Sondering Counseling and Wellness is a modern mental health counseling practice centered around providing accessible, high-quality, and compassionate care for all. Every clinician possesses competence, confidence, and an affirming attitude towards individuals of diverse gender identities, sexual orientations, and relationship orientations.
As a licensed psychologist with over ten years of clinical training and experience, I have had the great fortune of supporting individuals from all walks of life who are working to make peace with their past, to connect with their present, and to build hope about their future. I work with adults of all backgrounds and orientations. My Approach… I strive to provide tailored support for my clients as they address issues like anxiety, depression, addiction, past trauma, communication issues, anger management, symptoms of serious mental illness, adjustment and decision-making issues, and relationship problems. Using an individualized, nonjudgmental approach, I will work with you collaboratively on building support, creating healthy independence, developing self-compassion and self-acceptance, clarifying values, and identifying goals for improving coping, fulfillment, and self-concept.
I view therapy as a collaboration where therapist and client work together to connect with an inner healing intelligence and unconditional positive regard within each of us. We can then tend to trauma, grief, resentments, and limiting beliefs that are contributing to symptoms. With humility and reverence for the resilience, courage and vulnerability it can take to heal ourselves, I create a nonjudgemental, kind and compassionate space with room for humor, absurdity and fun. I integrate healing modalities from various wisdom traditions that awaken our physiological and emotional connective systems in collaboration with the natural world. This process can help clear historic trauma and family of origin wounding that is reinforced by a mass cultural amnesia. I draw from evidence-based client-centered modalities including Transpersonal Psychology, Ecopsychology, Internal Family Systems, Gestalt, Family Systems and Somatic approaches to healing.
George Kolcun, MFT and our team of associates provide psychotherapy and support for adults, couples and adolescents to address a wide range of emotional and relational challenges.
Hi there. I’m glad you’re looking into getting support. I specialize in Somatic, Expressive Arts, and Inner Parts Work therapy. With me as your therapist, we will ground and regulate the body, as we invite different parts of you to be heard and to integrate. I am especially drawn to work with artists of all kinds, as I am one myself. This means we will invite creative techniques into the therapy space, such as dramatic role-play, movement, music, poetry and more to help to free your inner artist. I specialize in working with young adults as well, supporting individuation and community-building at this transformative time of life. I enjoy working with clients of all ages, ethnicities, abilities, gender identities, sexualities, and other intersectional identities. I am a queer-affirming therapist. Please feel free to read more about what our work together will entail, and contact me to book a consultation. I look forward to meeting you.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a love for holistic healing approaches. I go beyond talk-therapy, to treat issues including depression, anxiety, and trauma from multiple angles (mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual). As is common with many therapists, therapy changed my life and ignited my desire to do the same for others. I told myself if I could help just one person the way my therapist helped me, my life’s purpose would be fulfilled. My approach isn’t traditional; I know that each individual needs tools and interventions tailored to their unique experiences. Furthermore, I understand that a sense of well-being goes far beyond the thoughts and emotions we may struggle with. I believe in treating the whole person; mind, body, and spirit. I blend evidenced-based western approaches to psychology, including DBT and ACT, with eastern wellness practices such as mindfulness and yoga. I’m a wholehearted, empathetic therapist, but I’m not afraid to challenge my clients if/when needed. Not every client I treat has a life-altering transition, but I’ve witnessed significant shifts in the majority of them while processing trauma and treating depression, anxiety, and panic disorders. It brings me joy to work with individuals from various backgrounds and orientations. I work hard to get to know all of the intimate details that make you a wondrously unique individual, so that you may feel seen, heard, and understood. More importantly, so that we may work together in creating your vision for your highest self.

Initiating the process of therapy can understandably feel overwhelming, that’s why I strive to provide a supportive, non-judgmental, and confidential space for clients to explore difficult parts of their lives. I specialize in working with young adult issues, identity development, life transition, and first-generation students. Separating from your family, navigating new relationships, and discovering your path and interests are some of the unique challenges in this period of life. I have over four years of experience working in university counseling centers providing individual and group therapy to students, staff, and faculty. Through a safe and collaborative therapeutic alliance, we can work toward bringing relief to your immediate distress while also fostering a deeper understanding of yourself and others. I'm interested in helping you access your innate wisdom and healing potential. I’m curious and sensitive to cultural differences and the unique factors that have shaped your life. Many of my clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, defeated, stuck, anxious, and stressed. Whether it's academic pressure, relationship struggles, or uncertainty about the future, I provide personalized support to help them build confidence, reduce stress, and create lasting change. Using tools like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), we’ll explore their thoughts, feelings, and past experiences in a safe and comfortable way. My goal is to help clients break free from negative thinking, build self-esteem, and find more stability in both their personal and academic lives. Whether clients are dealing with burnout, feeling lost, or need to regain control, I’m here to support clients in creating the life they want and deserve.
Eating disorders can feel hopeless, but they aren’t. Whether this is your first time seeking help, or your umpteenth time, I believe that everyone can recover. There are many reasons eating disorders are invited into your life. Just as there are many reasons why a person develops an eating disorder, the way you recover will be just as unique. If there was a one size fits all solution, that would perhaps be as deceptive as the problem itself. Whether it’s perfectionism, judgment, loneliness, self-improvement, health, fear, family issues… Together we will discover what invites these problems into your life, and begin to find what recovery means for them. I have been in the battle with food and weight, caught in the war zone of an eating disorder, and come out the other side. Now recovered, I love working with individuals and their loved ones to find their own version of recovery, and find out what is keeping you stuck from living the life you desire. Through conversations, we will create space to discover your preferences, hopes and desires. Many of my clients have described me as the “anti-therapist,” which is a description I wear with pride. I bring enthusiasm, improvisation, imagination, and creativity into each session. My ability to think outside the nine dots and ask questions that others may not enables me to develop creative solutions with clients to help untangle what many would consider to be complicated problems. I believe in (and embrace) experimentation: the freedom to test things out and see how they fit, to explore the various facets of yourself, and to allow for complexities, and contradictions, and messiness… all the stuff the eating disorder hates and recovery needs. Eating disorders, are strong, they need something stronger to overpower them. I want to help discover what that is for you.
