At Ash Tree we have therapists that utilize a trauma informed and strengths based approach to meet the needs of our clients. We have therapists that specialize in working with complex trauma and PTSD, anxiety, ADHD, and other life transitions.
Pain shows up in many forms — in your body, your emotions, and your closest relationships — and none of it is simple. I work with chronic pain, addiction, relationship strain, and the experience of feeling disconnected from self and others. My approach isn’t about merely eliminating these challenges, but about supporting you as a whole person living with them. Together, through individual, couples, or family therapy, we explore the patterns and meanings behind what you’ve carried, creating space for relief, deeper connection, and a more grounded way of moving through your life.
A therapy space for Black women (LGBTQ allied) who have been feeling a heaviness and burdened by the traumas and the difficult challenges of just being a human being on this society. These women are educated, career driven and leaders of their families but, there is a heaviness that they cannot escape. In this place you are seen and heard without judgement. All parts of you are welcomed, even the parts you do not particularly like. In this space you can tell your story and begin to be in touch with the “self”, you. You will being to trust again or for the first time. You will learn that this part of you was there all of the time.
I enjoy working with College Students and Student Athletes. I worked on a Division I campus for 7 years as a support staff in the Athletic Department and as an Academic Counselor for Student Athletes. I am very familiar with college campus rigors and life style.
Anxiety is taking up more space in your life than you’d like. On the outside, things look successful—people rely on you, and you generally handle what’s in front of you. But internally, it can feel very different. Your mind replays conversations late at night. You hold yourself to impossibly high standards. That critical inner voice is quick to point out what you should have done better. Even when you accomplish something meaningful, it rarely feels like enough. You may be someone who was labeled “gifted” or high-achieving early on. You’re thoughtful, capable, and used to performing well under pressure. Yet the constant drive to get it right can leave you exhausted. You might notice tension in your body that never quite goes away, difficulty truly relaxing, or moments when your reactions feel stronger than they should. You understand your patterns—you may have even done therapy before—but insight alone hasn’t fully created the change you’re looking for. In our work together, we move beyond simply talking about the problem. I integrate EMDR and somatic-informed approaches to help your nervous system process experiences that may still be driving anxiety, perfectionism, or emotional intensity beneath the surface. When the body has a chance to settle, the mind often follows. Therapy becomes less about “figuring it out” and more about creating meaningful, embodied change. Our sessions are collaborative, focused, and respectful of your time and intelligence. I provide a calm, professional space where you can slow down without losing momentum. Together, we clarify what matters most to you and work toward a life that feels grounded, balanced, and genuinely fulfilling—not just successful on paper. If you’re ready for therapy that goes deeper than insight alone and supports lasting change, I’d be glad to connect. I invite you to schedule a free consultation through my website.
Living with thoughts that won't go away, feeling overwhelmed, and fear, shame and guilt have become the norm...struggling with body image and a cycle of yo-yo dieting that has gotten out of control. I specialize in helping women overcome anxiety and depression so that they can enjoy life's milestones such as graduating college, first career job, marriage, and having children. When anxious or depressed, these milestones are met with extreme fear or feelings of just "meh". You wonder when things got this way, as you didn't always feel hopeless or have an extreme fear of being judged. Your family and friends have noticed this change as you do not hang out with them as much and seem to have lost your joy. You don't have to feel this way forever. Imagine being relaxed while in public, wanting to hang out with loved ones, and being excited about your future. I work with women in their 20's and 30's that are entering a new phase of their life (i.e. college, career, relationship) and experience anxiety and depression.
Do you constantly feel overwhelmed by your emotions? Are you ready to finally experience peace from your past? Are you looking to share your story and be met with compassion? If you are ready to create a more loving relationship with yourself and make concrete changes in your life, we would love to work with you. Through therapy at East Atlanta Counseling Services, you can expect to have healthier relationships with yourself and others and find relief from symptoms of anxiety, depression, emotion dysregulation and trauma. We believe that every person has the ability to heal. We would be honored to work alongside you in your healing process.
My goal in counseling is to help you find freedom from areas in life where you feel stuck. I desire to meet you exactly where you are, help you understand and identify your strengths, and learn how the things you have been through have impacted you. I utilize trauma informed approaches such as EMDR and internal family systems to help my clients heal from past wounds. I enjoy working with individuals who have had past trauma, anxiety, depression, or are struggling with life transitions.
I view the soul as your mind, will, and emotions—the essence of who you are. Trauma can leave wounds that shape your view of yourself and the world, leaving fractures in your soul. Healing to me is not about ‘fixing,’ but about meeting yourself with compassion, understanding the protective patterns that once kept you safe, and reconnecting with the authentic self beneath them. I believe that every person carries an innate capacity for healing, even when pain and shame feel overwhelming. I trust that our wounds, when met with love and grace, can become openings to deeper wisdom, resilience, and growth. I also believe that healing is not a linear path—it unfolds gently, at your own pace, when safety and compassion are present. My work is rooted in the belief that wholeness is possible. "Grace softens the pain, love holds the wound, and compassion leads the healing.” The approaches I use are grounded in years of experience walking alongside survivors of trauma. Together, we’ll work with tools that go beyond surface-level coping and actually reach the root of what’s happening in your body and brain. Through Brainspotting, we can access and release the deep, unprocessed experiences that often drive anxiety and overwhelm. With trauma-informed DBT skills, you’ll learn practical ways to manage emotions, reduce shame, and build resilience. Using somatic approaches, we’ll gently reconnect with your body’s wisdom so that you feel more grounded and safe in your own skin. All of this work is held within a compassion-centered framework—because healing isn’t about fixing what’s ‘broken,’ it’s about meeting yourself with kindness and learning to trust your own inner strength. My goal is for you to leave therapy with tools you can carry with you anywhere—simple, effective practices that help calm your body, quiet your mind, and create space for peace.
We all have experiences, feelings, and behaviors we cannot always explain, control, or understand about ourselves.
