Being genuine and authentic is something that is extremely important when working with my clients. I am multicultural and have experience working with folks of all backgrounds. I am passionate about helping people heal and providing a safe space to do so.
As someone who recently graduated from both college and graduate school, I understand firsthand how stressful and overwhelming student life can be—from managing academic pressure to navigating social life or figuring out who you are and what's next. I work primarily with college students and young professionals who are feeling anxious, stuck, burnt out as they navigate college and post-grad life, and who are ready to explore new ways of coping, growing, and building confidence. My approach is collaborative and supportive—I want you to feel comfortable, heard, and empowered. We will work together on identifying what's getting in the way of your well-being and develop tools to help you manage challenges and while building self-compassion along the way. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or would like to see if we are a good fit—I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation.

Personal Introduction: The pain that currently exists in your life may feel like a weighted blanket, but it’s vital to remind yourself that the pain will not last forever. My name is Naseem and I’m a clinical mental health therapist based in Chicago, IL with about 2 years of therapy experience. I am a first generation Palestinian-American with parents born and raised in Palestine. Growing up, my parents never spoke about the importance of mental health, only physical health. Looking back on my childhood and the knowledge I gained over time, I learned that one can affect the other; both of them are equally important and are important for improving overall health. I identify as a queer Palestinian woman. In my culture, discussing mental health-related topics is foreign. One of the main reasons why I chose to pursue therapy as a career path is to be that first step in normalizing conversations on mental health in cultures that don’t discuss it enough like my own. It wasn’t until my adult years that I learned keeping my thoughts to myself 24/7 is doing more harm than good. My parents always told me to “get over it” and I found that wasn’t working for me anymore as I got older. My parents did not have the same opportunities as I do today when they were living in Palestine; they are another main reason why I chose this path. I received my bachelor’s from University of Illinois at Chicago (or UIC) in Psychology and my master’s from Adler University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I also hold a certificate in sex therapy from Adler University as well. In my past and most recent clinical experiences, I had the privilege and pleasure of working with individuals from the BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and disability community dealing with difficult life transitions, relationship problems (including infidelity), gender identity exploration/issues, grief/loss, and trauma (including racial and generational trauma). As your therapist, I will help you tap into your inner resources and power so you are able to create and experience a much more fulfilling relationship with the people around you, your life, and, most importantly, yourself. Within my work, I mainly utilize a narrative and person-centered approach. In our therapy space, your safety and comfortability is a top priority. Our space is highly collaborative as well; I want to know how I can best support you as you learn how to support yourself. Lastly, one of my favorite poets, Yung Pueblo, once said “I cannot make you happy, but I can commit to support you in the creation of your own happiness.” Together, we will do exactly that. A little about me (because I am human after all): Outside of work, I enjoy playing with my pup, meeting up with friends and family, reading, painting, playing wordle, and watching 90 day fiancé every Sunday (can’t miss it!).
As a compassionate therapist, I am dedicated to supporting young adults through anxiety, depression, self-esteem struggles, burnout, and various life transitions. I understand how hard this stage of life can feel, whether it be overwhelming emotions or heightened pressures — and you don’t have to navigate it alone. My approach is warm, collaborative, and free of judgement. I aim to bring a mix of curiosity, compassion, and humor to create a safe space where you can fully be yourself. I help clients explore the underlying causes of their struggles and develop effective tools for coping, healing, and growth. I lead with a person-centered style, focusing on building real authentic connection. At the same time, I bring in more structured tools when they’re helpful, pulling from CBT, DBT, and mindfulness practices. If you’re feeling curious, unsure, or even a little nervous, that’s completely normal. I’m here to meet you where you’re at — no expectations. Just a genuine conversation about what’s going on and how I might be able to help!

Hi, I’m Lyndee! I am a Licensed Social Worker and I want to help provide a listening ear, feedback and different therapeutic approaches to help you be the best version of yourself. I believe that everyone has a unique path in life and has the ability to learn new skills that they can use to improve their wellbeing. I help people who long to feel a connection to their authentic self, but feel held back by life’s challenges. I am most passionate about assisting children, adolescents, teenagers & young adults, ages 5-35 who are dealing with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem & life changes. I am also passionate about working with individuals diagnosed with OCD and ASD. In my therapy sessions, I like to meet the client where they are at. Life and challenges look different for everyone. I feel it is important to cater to the individual and their specific goals and needs. Lining out goals and aspirations for therapy is the best way to stay on track and discuss ways to help one’s thought process. I help clients when it comes to problem solving life stressors, developing healthy coping mechanisms, and creating an awareness of their needs and wants in life so that they can live the life they imagined. I know from my own path to wellness that life’s challenges may seem unmanageable at times. However, if an individual is committed to change, they are capable of their full potential and can increase their skills through working on their goals. It is important to remember that we all make mistakes and that no one is perfect. Working through life’s challenges, practicing self-forgiveness and having a growth mindset is something that takes time, commitment and practice. I believe that every individual is capable of change if they are willing to try. I received my bachelors in Psychology from Northeastern Illinois University & my masters in Social Work at Dominican University. My aim is to provide a philosophically sophisticated therapeutic experience that is tailored uniquely to you. Together, we can work on various concerns such as addiction, overwhelming stress, culture shock, grief, difficulty in relationships, a sense of anxiety or the exhaustion of depression. My approach is a holistic one, based on a meditative, in the moment application of REBT, DBT, and Existential Counseling to help guide you through your struggles. My strength as a therapist is the total commitment to my client’s needs and yours is the resilience to unburden yourself from the obstacles that arise in your daily life.
Prior to full-time clinical practice I was a tenured faculty member for many years. Most of my patients are trying to come to terms with their own histories, to feel more vital, and to chart an authentic path forward. I help people who find that they are stuck in their lives, and are perplexed by their reactions and those of others. I form a facilitating partnership that helps people reflect on their experiences and to make sense of them. This naturally opens new possibilities to live a more satisfying life. To my mind, finding one’s way requires a relationship with a thoughtful, genuinely caring, experienced person who is deeply engaged in helping. I strive to be that person.
