Hi, I’m Jaime! I’m a licensed therapist who creates a supportive, nonjudgmental space for students navigating stress, anxiety, trauma, grief, or big life changes. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed or just need someone to talk to, I’m here to help you feel seen, heard, and empowered to take steps toward healing and growth—at your pace, and in your way.
Hello and welcome! Thank you for considering going on this journey with me! Here is a little bit about me- I have experience working with issues such as trauma, suicidal ideation, family dynamics, ADHD, Autism, anxiety, and depression. I enjoy working with individuals across the lifespan. As a therapist that identifies as Queer and Neurodivergent, I am passionate about working with and advocating for LGBTQIA+ individuals, as well as other marginalized identities. I welcome topics such as diversity and identity in the counseling room. When I am not practicing therapy, I enjoy singing, songwriting, and playing instruments. I also love to include music and art within therapy. I feel that utilizing creativity and mindfulness can be healing in many ways. I believe that everyone has a story to tell and thank you for being open to sharing yours with me.
When people come to treatment with problems, it is important to remember that they are trying to cope with them in the best way they can. With that in mind, I offer a reflective and engaging partnership with my clients, working toward the goal of helping them to be autonomous, authentic and compassionate in a world that can be extremely stressful. Although my work is solidly grounded in psychodynamic, cognitive/learning, and systems theories, my approach is client-centered, practical and strengths-based. I bring honesty, warmth, and humor to the therapy relationship. I am LGBTQ affirmative and invested in doing cross-cultural therapy which is culturally sensitive. I have a dog, Bracket, who works with me, and I have been doing AAT since 2002. There is a growing body of research which suggests that AAT (Animal-Assisted Therapy) can be helpful with a range of diagnoses, including Depression, PTSD, and Autistic Spectrum. Many therapists know little about online games such as World of Warcraft and Second Life. They may dismiss it as unimportant, or assume it is a problem. I am a gamer-affirmative therapist, meaning I’m more interested in understanding your in-world experience and activity than pathologizing it.
I am Brittany Brookshire, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor working remotely with clients in Illinois and Arkansas. I graduated in 2017 with a master’s degree in counseling from the University of Georgia, and I have worked as a school counselor and in private practice. Many of my clients are between ages 18-50, and I often work with people experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD, and adult ADHD. I love being a part of peoples’ journeys through life, and I feel passionately about helping those going through (or healing from) life transitions, religious trauma, abusive relationships, uncertainty in life, grief, stress within marriages, or those just working to love or learn about themselves. I am currently accepting clients ages 18 and up, and I would love to meet you and see if we would be a good fit. Not sure what you are looking for in a counselor? Have questions about me, my practice, or how to find the right counselor for you? I would love to hear from you!
As a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I am committed to supporting students' mental health and emotional well-being. With years of experience working in diverse academic settings, I help students navigate the challenges of college life, including stress, anxiety, academic pressures, and relationship dynamics. I offer a supportive, confidential space where students can explore their thoughts, emotions, and struggles without judgment. Through evidence-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, and person-centered approaches, I empower students to build resilience, develop healthy coping strategies, and achieve personal growth. My goal is to create an open, inclusive environment where students can feel heard and validated while gaining the tools necessary to succeed both academically and personally. I believe in the power of self-awareness, self-compassion, and community support to foster lasting change.
I believe connecting with my clients is the foundation to change. I enjoy building collaborative partnerships to foster feelings of safety, empathy and growth in the therapeutic process. Therapy is a safe space meant for each individual to bring any concerns to the session without judgment. I have over 5 years of experience working with adolescents and adults in community mental health, crisis intervention and private practice. I have experience treating a variety of disorders such as anxiety, depression, trauma, family of origin activation and adjustment to life transitions/events/medical diagnoses. Finding a therapist that you feel comfortable with and is a right fit to you is my top priority. Please reach out to discuss your goals for therapy and to see if I am the right therapist for you. I am in-network with Anthem, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare/UMR and Aetna.
I have a passion for helping individuals who have been wounded physically, emotionally and spiritually to become whole and restored. During my professional career I have worked with individuals of all ages who suffer from traumatic experiences, mood disorders, chronic illness, grief and loss, crisis intervention and a host of other issues. I am a certified premarital/marital counseling facilitator with PREPARE/ENRICH. I am hard of hearing and fluent in American Sign Language and have the ability to relate to the Deaf and have a deep understanding of the culture. I am certified to do online counseling (video chat, email, text). This gives freedom to those who may not be able to get to the office due to limitations or restraints. I believe in the mind, body, spirit approach and finding balance in those areas. I work with individuals to find balance in life and to become more whole through exploring the various areas of their lives.
I try to provide a warm but structured therapeutic experience designed to help my clients address their difficulties in productive and forward-moving ways. I use a variety of different therapeutic techniques designed to help my clients gain insight into their behavior and the behavior of others, and together we work toward devising new approaches to past problems that will serve them better. I have over 25 years experience working with young adults. I particularly enjoy working with anxious clients suffering from stress, generalized anxiety, and social anxiety, providing them with ways to manage their stress and thoughts using cognitive restructuring, behavioral calming strategies, mindfulness, meditation, and problem-solving strategies. I also have expertise in working with individuals who have OCD and use an exposure with response prevention paradigm in treatment. In addition, I have also had considerable training and experience in working with individuals who struggle with anorexia and bulimia as well as those struggling with relational problems. I think flexibility and collaboration with clients is the key to a positive therapeutic experience.

My goal is to help you achieve symptom stability, improve your quality of life, and support long-term mental wellness through evidence-based psychiatric treatment. Seeking help is an important step toward feeling better. Whether you are beginning treatment for the first time, looking for a medication provider, or seeking continued psychiatric care, I am here to help. I have experience working with adults and teens in an outpatient setting. A priority of mine is helping clients develop healthy coping mechanisms to reduce stress, depression, anxiety, and burnout. Everyone’s healing journey is unique, so I utilize a multi-dimensional approach, incorporating both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) with a person-centered approach. I customize sessions to find what works best for each person. It is my honor to be a part of your healing journey. I believe in creating a safe, empowering, and collaborative space for each of my clients while holding space for each client to be unapologetically themselves. My goal is to help you live a happier life and reach your highest potential!
You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re trying to make sense of who you are, where you’re going, and how to handle life’s challenges. I work with students who feel like their emotions are out of control, are struggling with identity, navigating family stress, searching for community, or carrying the impact of past experiences. I understand how culture, family, and community shape our stories. Sometimes in ways that bring strength, and other times through cycles we want to break. I believe therapy is a collaborative process. Together, we’ll build coping tools, create balance, and honor your culture, story, and strengths as you move toward a life that feels more meaningful and manageable.
