Anchor Point Counseling offers a variety of services to meet each client’s varying needs. Counseling is not a one-size-fits-all type of service. Each client will bring with them a unique story and perspective through which they relate and interact with themselves, others, and the world around them. Here at Anchor Point, we want to honor those differences through offering more specialized treatment (EMDR and FLASH), specifically in working with trauma and anxiety disorders. Additionally, Anchor Point has a particular interest in treating educators, student-athletes, and coaches. General counseling is also available.

Jack Garner, LCSW is a licensed clinical therapist in the states of Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Illinois and is a member of WPATH. Hi! I’m Christy. I’m the owner and a therapist at Journey to Joy Counseling. I believe that many people reach a point in their lives where they feel overwhelmed by life. This could be triggered by the loss of a job, a struggling marriage, family issues, or a personal battle. It can be hard to reach out for help. Sometimes it may feel easier just to withdraw or isolate, mask, or even ignore the problem. I’ve learned that while these attempts to cope may help temporarily, they don’t make the problems go away. The best thing we can do for ourselves is to seek help. People often ask me “How can counseling help?” I’ve learned from my own personal experience with therapy that counseling provides a safe space, a neutral party to bounce things off of, and a place to process things you may not realize you need to address. I believe that it is important to meet people where they are emotionally. No matter where you are on your journey, you need to be able to evaluate how you got to this point, and where you want to go from here. It’s important for me to understand the goals you have for your life and your personal growth. I want to offer you a neutral support system, a trusting and collaborative relationship, and my knowledge, experience, and training in order to help you have the best therapy experience.
Is life lifein? If you have made it this far that indicates that the answer is YES! I’ve been where you are. I’ve been saddened, confused, hopeless, and felt no sense of direction. You’re not alone in this journey. I STRUGGLED my first few years of school. I was homesick, felt lost, and alone. One of the best decisions I have made and that you can make for yourself is the decision to seek the proper help
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over 12 years of experience. I provide an atmosphere of trust and comfort where clients feel at ease. My style of therapy is engaging, warm and goal-oriented. Others have described me as authentic, genuine, non-judgmental and empathic. I work with adolescents and adults who are struggling with a range of issues such as anxiety, depression, school/work related challenges, family conflict, relationship issues, life transition issues and parenting difficulties. I believe there is no “one size fits all” form of treatment. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them find the necessary tools to grow, develop, and achieve their goals. I am skilled in a variety of interventions including the evidenced based approaches of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I draw from these approaches, depending on my client’s goals and what I deem will be most effective. I received my Masters in Clinical Counseling at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I practiced and trained in Chicago for 9 years before moving to Indiana. Prior to starting my private practice, I worked in various settings including psychiatric hospitals, partial hospitalization programming, intensive outpatient programming, within a group practice and a community mental health center.

I will help you discover your strengths, determine your goals, and find what works to best help you take care of you. I am a licensed clinical social worker and have over 9 years of experience working in a variety of settings including as a school based therapist and outpatient therapist . I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress management, self-esteem, and work and career issues. I offer a relaxed environment, and I will meet you where you are in the treatment process. I work with clients who are going through life or identity transitions and for those feel alone, anxious, depressed, haunted by their past, or trapped in their tangled thoughts. I also specialize in personality disorders and/or religious trauma. Education on social justice issues, including racial, cultural, LGBTQ+, and religious differences, is a top priority for me. Not all human experiences can be expressed verbally, so I am trained in both traditional talk therapy and offer art therapy as well. My guidance typically involves reframing thoughts, building assertiveness, identifying/managing emotions, trauma-informed care, harm reduction models, and processing experiences. I am also one of the only therapists in Indiana who identifies as a pagan and secular provider. If you are looking for a non-religious therapist who understands growing up in a religious environment, reach out!
I work with a lot of young adults who are in the normal developmental process of figuring out life choices, i.e .making decisions about career, relationships, independence, long term goals, and transitioning more fully into all aspects of adulthood.
