Entering into therapy can feel overwhelming and vulnerable. My initial goals are always to understand what brings you into therapy, give you a sense of how I practice, and talk together about whether I am a good fit for you. I encourage an ongoing and open conversation about our treatment relationship and progress towards your goals. I practice from the fundamental belief that healing can occur in an attuned, compassionate relationship marked by curiosity. Clients describe me as interactive, collaborative, warm, and nonjudgemental. My practice is heavily influenced by mindfulness-based approaches. It is a privilege to support clients in making sense of the challenges they are facing, enhance their comfort with riding waves of strong feeling, and to respond to their thoughts and feelings in a more compassionate way.
I provide a safe, open environment to talk about any and all experiences or feelings. Some clients come for help through a short time period, or want to look at longer term issues and to make changes in their lives. Sometimes, it is simply to talk with an unbiased, nonjudgmental listener. Whichever it may be, I am privileged to take the journey with you. I will understand you as as a whole person, rather than a series of symptoms and diagnoses. I will pay attention to your background, your strengths, and the way we work together in addition to the presenting problem/s. I have worked in a variety of settings in the area, from several college counseling centers, community mental health facilities, and private practice. I draw upon this diverse training and experience to work with my clients.

Hello! Thanks for stopping by, it’s great to connect with you. I'm a musician/creative pursuing my Master's in Mental Health Counseling and Music Therapy at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. I see clients in Massachusetts via Telehealth at a low-cost (the rate of your insurance co-pay). My training has prepared me to work with a wide range of issues, like anxiety, depression, grief, and major life changes. Topics I'm passionate about include LGBTQ+ issues, spirituality/faith transitions, and posttraumatic growth. I'm excited to share my knowledge with you and create a space together that best supports your growth and healing. I take an experiential and embodied approach to my work. This means that, in addition to talking, I offer other clinical methods to help support you, such as Music Therapy. I also like to infuse my work with an element of creativity and play, when appropriate. My goal is that you leave each session feeling supported to keep moving forward. If anything has resonated with you, I look forward to connecting! It would be a pleasure and honor to support you through this stage of your journey. You're not in this alone, and together, we can do some great work.

My goal as a therapist is to create a warm, welcoming, safe space where you can explore the areas in which you feel stuck, anxious or overwhelmed. Together, we can explore the thoughts, feelings and behaviors that serve you, as well as identify those that don’t. We can identify new options and help you make more empowered choices. Reaching out for help is a courageous act. I consider it an honor and a privilege to be your witness and to walk beside you as you begin your healing journey. When we feel safe enough to feel our feelings, we can begin to move through them, towards healing. I invite you to contact me for a free 15 minute consult to see if we are a good fit to work together.

You deserve a therapist who really sees you, not just your symptoms. I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who specializes in anxiety, depression, relationships, and trauma across the lifespan. My approach is warm and collaborative, rooted in evidence-based and trauma-informed practices like CBT and DBT. I also incorporate creativity, mindfulness, and the things that matter to you, whether that’s music, art, sports, or storytelling. Before opening my private practice, I served as the Clinical Program Director of a Community Crisis Stabilization (CCS) unit, where I supported individuals in acute mental health crises. I believe emotional healing happens in a therapeutic relationship. I offer relations-oriented, emotion-focused psychotherapy to clients interested in relieving symptoms, identifying patterns, resolving conflicts, building satisfying relationships, finding fulfillment in life, etc. My work is trauma-informed due to my passion for trauma treatment, especially that of developmental trauma, and an understanding that traumatic experience is existentially inevitable in human life. I also have a particular interest in helping college/graduate students, parents having young children, and new immigrants navigate challenging life situations. Guided by a humanistic and dynamic approach, I help people create desired, lasting changes. Our work together will be highly individualized, to first gain a thorough understanding of you and then meet your unique needs towards emotional growth and other goals. My rich cross-cultural experience is a valuable asset in my work with diverse populations. Life is a journey and can be turbulent. I would like to be a travel companion in your journey of self-exploration, self-discovery, and self-improvement!

Starting treatment with a new mental health provider can be daunting: it involves opening up with the hope that you'll learn and grow from the experience. I have tremendous respect and admiration for my patients, as they work through challenging emotions, histories, and conflicts. At times, certain thought patterns, self-perceptions, traumatic experiences, or communication struggles can keep people from thriving and building the kind of career, relationship, or personal well-being they crave. It takes courage to work on these issues, and it is a real privilege to get to help people on their journey. I am a Harvard-trained, board-certified psychiatrist providing psychotherapy and medication management to adults in Massachusetts through telehealth. Growing up in an immigrant family and having worked in multiple clinics internationally, I highly value providing culturally competent care. It is very important to me that my patients feel seen and heard. I use a collaborative, holistic approach to care, in which I work alongside clients to define and set goals. I am transparent about the extent of what is and isn't well-known in psychiatry with the goal of helping people make informed decisions that they feel comfortable implementing. If this approach sounds like a good fit for you, please reach out!
I am a strengths-based therapist with an active, collaborative style, and a solution focus. I worked in college mental health centers for years before opening a private practice, and I enjoy working with adolescents, emerging adults, and young adults on the wide variety of issues that they present with. I am also a certified addictions counselor (CADC-II) and I often work with young people who are either questioning their alcohol and drug use, or who are trying to abstain from substances or other addictive behaviors. I have been practicing psychotherapy since 2003, and more recently earned my doctoral degree in counseling and sport psychology at Boston University, so I also commonly work with student-athletes and high-achieving clients.
