Hi, I'm Danielle. I help people build more confidence in themselves, make peace with their bodies, and improve their relationships. On the surface, you might hold it together pretty well. You try so hard to keep up in your classes, stay busy, and show up for your friends. The thing is, no one knows how overwhelmed, insecure, and lonely you really feel. There's a vague but heavy sense of self-doubt that interferes with your decisions, self-confidence, and relationships. On some level, you know there's got to be another way, and there IS! You can feel more peace, find your voice, build self-trust, and step into the life you actually want. I'd love to help you get there! My goal is to provide a safe space for you to feel like you can fully be yourself, process your experiences, and figure out how to become the best version of yourself. I believe therapy is tough, serious work, AND it can also be filled with laughter and lightness. I have worked extensively throughout my career with clients struggling with self-esteem, whether that shows up in anxiety, depression, eating disorders, body image issues, or relationship/dating issues. We'll start by building insight and awareness around the patterns and behaviors you're struggling with. From there, we'll work to make the meaningful changes needed to build a life you're proud of and excited about. If this resonates with you, you're in the right place! You can learn more about me on my website or by reaching out to schedule a complimentary 15-minute consultation.

My goal is to create a welcoming, non-judgmental environment and provide you with the tools to authentically explore yourself, solve problems, and cope with difficult experiences. I am committed to affirming and uplifting marginalized identities across racial, ethnic, gender, sexual, and religious lines. Having completed my clinical training at the Appalachian State counseling center, I am experienced in working with college students including non-traditional students.
I love the work that I do helping people through their difficulties, helping them gain insight and courage to change their lives in ways of their choosing. I approach all of my work from a strengths perspective. We all need help sometimes and it takes courage to seek out help and guidance. I operate from a strong faith background myself but follow the client's lead on whether they want to add these elements into our work or not. I am non-judgmental and am open to working with all people.
Many of the students I work with are bright, capable, and hardworking—but still feel overwhelmed, distracted, anxious, or like they’re constantly falling behind. I specialize in working with college students struggling with ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and relationship stress. Together we focus on understanding how your brain works, improving emotional regulation, building better habits, and reducing shame or self-criticism. My approach is supportive, collaborative, and practical. I integrate CBT, DBT, ACT, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and the Gottman Method for couples. I have over 10 years of experience working with college students and young adults navigating stress, identity, relationships, and life transitions.
Are you feeling anxious or stressed out? Are you in your prime years but feeling held back by that voice telling you you're not good enough, smart enough, or fit enough? Or maybe, you're feeling the sting of a recent break-up or just not getting along with your roommate. Perhaps for you it's that horrible memory haunting you from the past. If any of those resonate, know that you are not alone, and you don't have to figure out where to go from here on your own either - we can navigate it together. I offer a space to be seen and understood while we work together on goals that help you feel like your best self. Are the characters/themes in the Euphoria or Pixar films relatable? Do you find yourself connecting your feelings to movies, music, tv, or books? Maybe you're experiencing a recent life change of being in a new environment, newly found independence, a new job, relationship status, recent move, or exploring sobriety, and it sucks doing it alone. Can you relate to the “buzz” of anxiety Ted Lasso felt when his “panic” crept in. Are you the Nick Miller of the group, struggling with holding boundaries, overthink the little things, or feel you are your own worst enemy? How about Chidi Anagonye, uncertain of all your decisions? You feel motivated, yet unsure of how to get started? You’re trying to navigate this fucked up world, while just trying to have the "normal" college experience. Imagine feeling more confident and passionate in your pursuits like Leslie Knope. You want to be more present in your day to day and embrace a feeling of calm. Boundaries? You become a master of that shit! Implementing and enforcing them in your life.
You’re up late doom-scrolling Instagram wondering why everyone else seems to have it together. It seems impossible to not compare yourself to others and you think, “if I could just lose weight, I’d be happy.” It feels like you’re doing the “right things” but you still worry it’s not enough. You’ve become your own worst critic, constantly feeling like you aren’t living up to your expectations. You can’t help but notice there’s a tightness in your chest when you realize you have another task to add to your to-do list. Lately, it feels like your anxiety is running your life and your self-esteem is at an all-time low. It’s okay to exhale. Therapy is an empowering space to cope with the “what ifs”, build self-compassion, and discover food freedom. Imagine being able to close your laptop at the end of the day and feel accomplished, even if it means you didn’t “do it all.” Picture yourself grabbing lunch with friends and ordering what you actually want, without the guilt. I support college students wanting to heal their relationship with food and their body, and release the pressure to be perfect. I offer a free 15 minute video consultation call to chat about what's bringing you to therapy, answer any questions you have, and see if we'd be a good fit. Send me an email to get started!

Counseling is like creating a work of art. It can be messy, beautiful, and transformative, but overall, it is a collaboration between client and therapist. I believe that you are the expert on your life and as such use a person-centered approach leaning into a balance of body, mind, and emotion. Doing so allows me to work with you to identify and reach specific goals, which assist in achieving well-being for emotional, physical and mental health. I enjoy working with a wide array of cultures and lifestyles. I currently offer telehealth sessions and see persons of all ages and backgrounds. I am trained in child and adolescent trauma, adult trauma, EMDR, human sexuality, grief, and somatic therapy, amongst other areas. I have a special focus in women’s trauma, adverse childhood experiences and military trauma, utilizing somatic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for the treatment of trauma, depression, chronic pain, anxiety, and sexual dysfunction.
