Hi, I'm Sean. I'm passionate about helping clients overcome struggles related to anxiety, OCD, life transitions, and identity development. In therapy, we will work collaboratively to identify your goals and create a plan to develop strategies to manage life challenges. In doing so, my goal is to create opportunities for you to come to know yourself more fully, to provide tools for you to connect with others more deeply, and to empower you to live a life more in line with your personal values. I am trained in providing CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ERP (Exposure & Response Prevention), and Psychodynamic Therapy. I often work using an integrated approach that emphasizes treating the whole person and incorporate elements of multiple modalities to meet your individual needs and goals. Change can be both terrifying and extremely powerful. I value meeting new clients where they are at in their journey, and working as a team to accomplish important goals. To book a phone screen and get started, I invite you to reach out!

My approach centers on building self-discovery, through the relationship between our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. This internal world influences anxiety, depression, mood stability and reactivity. Therapy is where you can take the time to get to know more about yourself and ways to build helpful self-care practices. Many of my clients come to therapy struggling with persistent self-doubt, critical inner narratives, as well as the weight of expectations around identity, achievement, and emotional expression. These expectations can distort our sense of self worth, making it challenging to define and meet important self-growth goals. Together, we can work to intuitively explore what may be contributing to these challenges, current belief systems and behavioral patterns. I value a conversational approach to therapy, where you can feel open in expressing your thoughts, concerns and internal narratives in order to ultimately choose if they are still serving you or it may be time for change. How we speak to ourselves matters; it not only affects our mood but also our motivation, behavior, and ability to connect with others. When we cultivate an intentional internal dialogue that aligns with our values we can begin to unlock a greater sense of autonomy and capability. This process leads to lessened anxiety, greater self confidence and acceptance.

You don't have to have all the answers yet. If you've always felt different but never knew why—overthinking social situations, struggling to start or finish tasks, feeling overwhelmed by schedules that seem easy for everyone else—you might be neurodivergent. Many college students arrive at my office without a formal diagnosis, just a deep sense that something has been harder for them than it should be. I specialize in working with ADHD and autistic students, including those who are questioning or self-identified. Together, we can make sense of your patterns, build systems that actually fit your brain, and separate who you are from the shame that has built up over the years. No masking required. You're not broken. You've just been using the wrong manual.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist and Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. For me, being a physician is more than a profession—it is a vocation to help indviduals flourish. My practice is devoted to students and young adults seeking thoughtful, individualized psychiatric care that extends beyond symptom relief. I provide comprehensive evaluations that consider medical, nutritional, lifestyle, and psychological factors—including laboratory testing when clinically appropriate—to identify the contributors to emotional and cognitive health. I also specialize in evidence-based de-prescribing for patients who wish to reduce or discontinue psychiatric medications for anxiety, attention difficulties, or substance use disorders. My approach is guided by precision, humility, and restraint: using the least intensive intervention necessary while drawing upon the full breadth of evidence-based medicine. Depending on each patient's needs and goals, I integrate psychotherapy, nutrition, lifestyle medicine, exercise, targeted supplementation, and, when appropriate, carefully selected medications into a personalized treatment plan. In addition to my clinical work, I have presented internationally on psychiatric deprescribing and medical ethics. My work has been recognized with awards from the American Psychiatric Association, the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions, the American Psychoanalytic Association, and other leading professional organizations. I am the Founder & Medical Director of Verigrate Health. Hello and welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to supporting college students as they navigate the emotional, academic, and personal challenges of this season of life. College can be a time of growth and discovery, but it can also bring stress, anxiety, identity questions, relationship concerns, and past wounds to the surface. As a faith-centered, trauma-informed therapist, I am committed to helping individuals find emotional healing, clarity, and peace. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to turn, you don’t have to face it alone. I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in helping children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families who are navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, emotional regulation, and major life transitions. With more than five years of experience across diverse clinical settings, I offer care that is compassionate, evidence-based, and built on trust. My goal as your engaged and supportive partner is to ensure you feel safe and understood as we work through what’s weighing on you and progress toward the life you want to live. Our work is a partnership, one where you’re met with respect, curiosity, and care every step of the way. I look forward to supporting your growth, healing, and lasting change. My approach to therapy centers on you. I work collaboratively and from a strengths-based, culturally responsive perspective, creating a space where you feel respected and supported. Together, we’ll explore your unique needs and lived experiences, build insight, and tap into the resilience you already carry. Our sessions are nonjudgmental, trauma informed, and grounded in compassion, with an emphasis on practical tools you can use to create lasting change so the work feels meaningful and relevant. My journey toward becoming a therapist began in my teenage years, when I was searching for ways to make sense of my own emotions and searching for support that truly helped. Along the way, I learned how powerful it can be to feel genuinely understood, an experience that shaped my commitment to offering care that’s warm, trauma informed, and deeply compassionate. In my work today, I bring empathy, patience, and a real-life understanding of what it’s like to build emotional skills one step at a time, meeting people exactly where they are. Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, painting, boxing, and a little retail therapy. These hobbies help me stay grounded, creative, and energized, bringing balance and presence into the work I do with patients.

Creative practices can often be a safer and more direct way of expressing, experiencing and understanding the most challenging emotions. I'm a creative arts therapist who has been working in New York for over fourteen years. I integrate my experience as a performer in Jazz, improvised and World music as well as my zen practice of over twenty years into a unique and effective approach to therapy. Using both verbal psychotherapy and creative art mediums in a safe and supportive environment I work to guide the therapeutic process towards achieving a client's unique goals. I specialize in working with clients with depression, anxiety, addiction, ASD, trauma and ADHD. I bring together psychodynamic depth and mindfulness — sometimes with music, sometimes without. My work is warm, exploratory, and grounded in who you actually are. No previous musical experience required. If you're curious whether this approach could work for you, I'd love to find out together. Reach out through my profile to schedule a consultation — no commitment required, just a conversation. New York clients: I offer telehealth across the state, so wherever you are, we can connect.
