I'm a licensed clinical social worker with a virtual practice in NY and GA. I offer psychotherapy for adults navigating life transitions and struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, perfectionism, and shame. I also specialize in helping people make peace with their bodies and heal their relationships with food and exercise. I see therapy as a deeply rewarding experience where you can cultivate self compassion, self acceptance, and flexibility. We'll create a safe space where you can process distressing feelings or challenges, grow in self understanding, build and practice new ways of coping, and move towards living a full life that's in line with your true values. My integrative approach as a therapist means I'll always be responsive to your reasons for being in therapy and what you want to find. I have an open, exploratory style, but I also won't hesitate to share more concrete resources or suggest practices to test out in between sessions if we decide together it might help.
Psychotherapy is a profoundly personal and individualized process. It can foster a deeper understanding of self and others, promote healing and resilience, increase coping skills, change behaviors, instill hope, create meaning, and help individuals live their lives in more emotionally honest, authentic, and relationally connected ways. At the heart of the therapeutic process is a collaborative working relationship between therapist and client, and the best outcomes are achieved when there is a feeling of connection and understanding between the two. Continually attending to the fit between therapist and client is important in establishing a relationship that has the strength and ability to explore difficult experiences and the impact of those experiences on clients’ lives. Dr. Kapadia approaches the work with both curiosity and compassion, tailoring the treatment to the individual and using an integrative approach to meet each person’s needs. She draws from a variety of therapeutic orientations, including interpersonal, psychodynamic, family systems, and affect regulation models (cognitive-behavioral and dialectical behavior therapies).
I am a clinical psychologist with 8 years of experience. I primarily work from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) framework. Together, we’ll clarify what is most important to you, identify your life goals, and strategize ways to reduce your suffering while moving you closer to those goals. I also integrate CBT, DBT, and mindfulness. My approach is transparent, intersectional, and above all: human. All of your identities are welcome here, so let’s talk about how your mental health intersects with race, gender, sexuality, spirituality, and all the other parts that make you, you. I specialize in working with clients (16+) who identify across the spectrums of gender and sexual orientation, and families who want to learn how to be more supportive of their loved ones. My (virtual) therapy room is a safe/brave space for anyone whose identity tends to be excluded from society. I offer individual, couples, and family therapy via telehealth. I also provide supervision, consultation, and workshops around topics of diversity and mental health. To learn more and see if we might be a good fit, reach out for a free consultation. Please note: I am not in network with any medicaid ("community plan") or medicare plans. I am in network only with the commercial insurances noted in this profile. Referrals with United Healthcare Community Plan (Medicaid) will be referred back to the counseling center for an alternate referral.

I have been intensively trained in Radically-Open DBT (RO-DBT), a specialized treatment for Chronic Depression, Anorexia-Nervosa, and disorders of Over-Control (OC). Our practice, PSYCHē, is a private network of therapists across multiple states. Our job is to pair our clients with great clinicians all over the country. PSYCHē also offers various Standard DBT groups and Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT) skills classes online ranging from $100-$125. Groups are like a class, not therapy. New members can begin right away! Fortunately, there is a way to change patterns by learning to think and feel differently. Through multiple techniques, I aspire to help change the way you may think and feel about yourself and the world, by identifying unhealthy thinking and helping you challenge them. Together we will work on shifting your mindset and making progress towards your personalized goals. MY BACKGROUND In addition to receiving my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at CUNY Queens College and Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at LIU Post, I am a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC). I am fluent in Spanish and English. I am excited to use my knowledge and skills to help children, teens, and adults who might be more comfortable with therapy in Spanish, through individual/group settings. While earning my Master’s degree, my interest in mental health and the counseling field grew. I couldn’t wait till the day that I would finally be able to do what I’ve wanted to do since I was a child. Upon graduating, I was an intern for a pediatric clinical psychologist. Being able to see the work and gaining some hands-on experience opened new doors for me and showed me an additional side of helping people. From there, I moved on to a clinic that specializes in treating those who suffer from addiction/substance use disorder which gave me the opportunity to use my counseling skills differently. I was able to meet each person as soon as they began their recovery journey, as I conducted their initial assessments and guided them in their recovery journey by helping them meet their individualized goals through individual and group sessions. The experience of being in the counseling field has been one of a kind, especially as a health care worker through the COVID-19 pandemic. All things are possible due to my strong commitment and interest in helping the community. MY APPROACH My goal is to empower my clients, as I wholeheartedly believe in the ability to change while learning to be gentle with oneself. Please allow me the opportunity to join you and your family on this journey to overcome obstacles and embrace accomplishments. An inner sense of peace may feel far from reach for you or your child, but I promise it’s available to your family. Are you ready? You’ve made it this far, now just reach out! If you would like to contact me or make an appointment, please email me at stephanie@trianglecognitivetherapy.com or call me at 516-208-3792 ext 29.

I have also received advanced training in postpartum mood/anxiety disorders through Postpartum Support International, which allows me to help new parents dealing with perinatal concerns. I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and relational psychotherapy, and provide documentation for out-of-network insurance reimbursement and sliding scale rates when needed.
I am an experienced, long time psychotherapist, who helps create a nurturing environment that is warm, curious and non judgemental. I am focused on understanding the client and supporting the optimal healing process. I have an unconditional commitment to each of my clients to be open and honest, to be focused on their life-enhancing goals, and to work in a proactive manner to help them achieve these goals in the briefest possible time. No single approach works for everyone. Some issues may be addressed with a short-term, solution-focused approach. More complex issues may need a combination of approaches over a longer time.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or frustrated with yourself — especially around focus, follow-through, confidence, or patterns you want to break — you’re not alone, and you don’t have to navigate it by yourself. I commonly support clients with: -ADHD and executive functioning challenges (organization, time management, follow-through) -Low self-esteem, self-criticism, and confidence at work or in relationships -Anxiety related to performance, decision-making, or life transitions Addiction recovery (alcohol, substances, gambling, sex or compulsive behaviors) -Emotional regulation and impulse control Stress, burnout, and feeling “stuck” My therapeutic style is collaborative, structured, and compassionate. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral strategies, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic insight, tailoring therapy to your goals and pace. My name is Soren and I work with people of all ages to help them grow in whatever directions feel the most authentic. If you are feeling misunderstood, lost, trapped, or alone, my practice is a safe space for you. Many times we hide our deepest truths from others and even from ourselves in order to keep moving forward and not make a fuss or ignite difficult emotions. However, this denies us the chance for a more full and connected life. Life is hard, beautiful, and confusing. In my work we learn to hold space for all of these truths and explore them honestly. We are so often told what to do and who to be in this world, that we can lose sight of our intrinsic, genuine selves and desires. I help my clients move towards holistic connection with themselves and others through learning to live in more authentic and fulfilling ways. The path I take with each client is unique and matches their natural ways of healing. Each person has the ability to feel whole, valuable, and content in their lives. I like to give my clients the support and perspective that they need to fulfill this potential. I know counseling can be a challenging journey, but I am here to be a partner on that path and provide you with the warmth, understanding, joy, and safety you deserve.
Life can be very unpredictable and present us with significant challenges and emotional pain. These circumstances can impact our daily functioning and cause relational conflicts. With an empathetic ear, I will provide you with a safe and supportive space to begin your journey to emotional healing and growth. My therapeutic approach is to provide a warm, culturally sensitive and empathic space where you can feel safe and supported as you work to achieve your goals of growth and healing. Utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities including but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strength-Based, Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy I work to examine the way in which your thinking patterns impact your behaviors so that you can develop coping strategies and affect change. I am licensed clinical social worker in New Jersey and New Yotrk. I obtained my Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and am the owner of Graceful Mind Counseling Services LLC. I work with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, women's issues, adjustment, career and academic stressors, and self esteem.
With more than a decade of experience as a licensed clinical social worker, I support adults 18 and older as they navigate some of life's most complex and personal challenges. My areas of expertise include ADHD, complex PTSD and trauma, attachment disorders, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, substance use, grief and loss, and life transitions. For those navigating relational difficulties, I also offer couples counseling, family therapy, and group counseling to help strengthen the connections that matter most. At the heart of my work is the belief that healing begins within a safe, authentic, and supportive therapeutic relationship, one where you feel truly seen, heard, and understood. Finding the right therapist is a deeply personal process, and I encourage you to trust yourself in choosing the path that feels like the best fit. I take a holistic and collaborative approach to care, one that is always tailored to your unique needs. Drawing from psychoanalytic, person-centered, humanistic, and cognitive-behavioral perspectives, I integrate evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, narrative therapy, somatic work, trauma-informed care, and attachment-based interventions. For those in couples or family therapy, this foundation helps strengthen communication, deepen connection, and create lasting change in your relationships. Whatever brings you here, my goal is to help you connect with your inner guidance, develop tools for growth, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life. My path to becoming a therapist is a personal one. At 18, I knew something was wrong and reached out for help, scared and unsure of what to expect. What I found changed everything. My first therapist left a lasting impression on my life, and her impact planted the seed for the work I do today. That experience shaped not only my decision to become a therapist, but the kind of therapist I strive to be: someone who meets you with the care and presence that truly makes a difference. Outside of sessions, you'll often find me lost in a good book, working on a piece of writing, or hiking with my group through whatever trail is next on the list. I never pass up a chance to get to the beach, and live music holds a special place in my heart. Above all, I cherish the time I spend with my family and friends, and being a mom is one of my greatest joys.
Substances have a way of putting us on a merry-go-round that will not stop. Substances help us regulate our mood, push out the uncomfortable, keep us walled off from our surroundings. Something happens in life, and we "want to stop", but do not know how to stop. And, we use again. If you are struggling with substances, unhappy with your life, tired of chasing the next high, ask for help. You can text or call me. Maybe it is time for you to rethink your relationship to substances.
While changing behaviors and feelings is always tricky, it is never something that we need to face alone. I know that coming to therapy and making the commitment to show up for themselves every week requires strength from my clients. Therefore, I strive to help them get the most out of their experience. Together, we create a wellness plan specific to each individual (which I believe is the utmost priority. My passion for helping others shines through with authenticity and compassion. My clients find emotional fulfillment, success in relationships, and develop more confidence to grow.
