Each person has a unique experience and healing requires an individualized plan. Healing occurs through a combination of multiple different sources. Therapy can be one tool that can aid in growth that can alleviate suffering. Therapy can be both challenging and rewarding. I believe that a critical component of therapy is a trusting relationship with compassion, feeling heard and seen. Working with someone who you trust to hear your experience and challenge you in positive ways. I am a Yale and VA-trained clinical psychologist , licensed in CT and NY, who has over a decade of experience working with people struggling with addiction. Additionally, I have expertise treating anxiety, trauma, chronic pain, and relationship distress. I approach therapy from a gender-affirming, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive lens. I use an integrative approach that incorporates strategies from humanistic, relational and evidence-based therapies. My style is engaging, compassionate, and nonjudgmental.
Life can feel overwhelming. You might be carrying past trauma, facing anxiety that won’t ease, or navigating a lingering sadness. Maybe you’re exploring how your identity has been shaped by culture, history, or generational pain—and you’re ready to reclaim your voice. Whatever brings you here, I want you to know: reaching out is a powerful first step. As a therapist with over a decade of experience, I create a trauma-informed space where you feel seen and supported. Together, we’ll face the hard stuff while making room for healing, hope, and growth. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, identity, and life transitions. My approach is rooted in decolonizing therapy—honoring how colonization, systemic oppression, and cultural narratives impact mental health. We’ll gently examine and unlearn internalized beliefs, reconnect with your resilience, and center your wisdom. This work isn’t just about surviving—it’s about liberation. I believe in the power of healing, especially in the face of profound pain. Therapy for me is about coming home to yourself—finding strength, wholeness, and meaning. If you're seeking someone who deeply listens, understands your complexity, and honors your story, I’d be honored to share this space.
I utilize a variety of modalities to assist you in working on the issues that are adding stress and suffering to your life. My hope is to help you learn more tools and strategies to address the issues that you may be struggling with in a more effective way, so that you can feel better sooner. Great to meet you! I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and I earned my Doctorate in Nursing from Hofstra University. My path in healthcare has taken me through both inpatient and outpatient settings, where I’ve supported people during some of their most vulnerable moments. These experiences shaped how I practice today with empathy, patience, and a deep respect for each person’s story. As a Black provider, I understand the importance of feeling seen, heard, and culturally understood in mental health care. I recognize that many individuals, especially within underserved and minority communities, may face unique challenges, stigma, or barriers when seeking support. I strive to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and free to be yourself without judgment.I work with individuals navigating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, as well as prenatal and postpartum mental health. I understand that mental health can feel especially overwhelming during life transitions, including pregnancy and postpartum, and I aim to meet you with compassion and understanding. When we work together, my focus is on truly listening, not just treating symptoms, but helping you make sense of what you’re experiencing. I believe in explaining things clearly, collaborating on a plan that feels right for you, and making sure you feel supported every step of the way. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling heard, empowered, and more in control of your mental health. My approach to therapy In my practice, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but more importantly, I focus on meeting you where you are. In our first session, we’ll take the time to talk through what brought you in, what you’ve been dealing with, and what you’re hoping to feel or change. There’s no pressure just a space for you to be open and heard. As we work together, we’ll gently explore how your thoughts, feelings, and experiences are connected. I’ll help you notice patterns that may be keeping you stuck and give you simple, practical tools to challenge negative thoughts and manage overwhelming emotions. My goal is to make this process feel supportive and empowering, so you leave with skills you can actually use in your day-to-day life. What you can expect from me I take the time to really get to know you, not just your symptoms, but your story, your experiences, and what you’ve been through. I understand that everyone’s journey is different, and I approach care with that in mind, especially when it comes to stress, trauma, and life’s challenges. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, heard, and understood. I show up with patience, warmth, and honesty, and I take the time to explain things in a way that actually makes sense. I want you to feel safe, supported, and confident in your care every step of the way

Finding support for your mental health is one of the most meaningful steps you can take for yourself. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with six years of experience, my work centers on helping people of all ages navigate anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma, and life transitions. Whether you're facing low self-worth, struggling to set healthy boundaries, or simply feeling stuck, you don't have to find your way through it alone. My goal is to be a steady, empowering partner in your healing process. Together, we'll work toward building clarity, resilience, and the confidence to move forward with purpose. Wherever you are right now, that's exactly where we'll begin. My approach is supportive, collaborative, and structured, with a genuine belief that lasting healing comes from understanding what's at the root of your struggles. Creating a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you feel safe enough to go deeper is something I take seriously in every session. Using trauma-informed care and skills-based Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), we'll work together to process emotional pain, manage distress, and build healthier patterns that support greater stability and overall functioning. My style is warm and empowering, and the way we work will always be tailored to your unique capacity to process, accept, and grow. You can expect care that honors who you are and meets you with both structure and heart. Growing up, watching family members navigate mental health challenges, some diagnosed and others not, planted a seed that has shaped everything about the therapist I've become. Coming from a Caribbean background, I saw firsthand how deeply stigma can prevent people from seeking the help they deserve. That experience became a calling to provide a supportive space for my community so they feel that therapy can be effective and not feeling judged. Providing care that is affirming and culturally informed has been my commitment ever since. Understanding how individual and cultural experiences shape the way people cope with distress is something I bring to every conversation. Outside of sessions, life is full of the things that bring me joy and keep me grounded. Cooking is a creative outlet, binge-watching a great TV series is a favorite way to unwind, and spending time with family is where I feel most at home.

Her clinical focus is on the experiences of undergraduate and graduate students coping with depression and/or anxiety as well as with older adults struggling with romantic relationships, grief and loss, trauma, and work-life balance. You try so hard to keep the peace. You don't want to "rock the boat", and desperately want others to like you. After years of bending over backwards, your nerves are so much on edge that others have called you "too sensitive" or "overly emotional". In relationships with family, friends, partners, and coworkers, you feel powerless and plagued with doubt. Overthinking and spiraling thoughts are your new norm. But recently, you're realizing that you've been putting other people first for years, so much so, that you've forgotten to take care of yourself. That's where our work together comes in. Are you ready to learn to trust your own voice? Are you ready to shed the message that you have to please others to have happy relationships? Are you ready to stop overthinking? And most importantly, are you ready to begin taking care of yourself, the way you've been taking care of others for years? Invest in yourself and take that next step by clicking "Email Me" button or giving me a call. I offer a free phone consultation, and see clients in-person in my Oneonta Office and via telehealth anywhere in New York. I specialize in working with college students, and have experience in working with adults of all ages. I look forward to hearing from you!
