I am here to support you and help you make sense of what you are experiencing in a way that feels honest and respectful. My approach is trauma informed, queer affirming, and non-more pathologizing. I believe your symptoms make sense in the context of your experiences. Together we will explore those patterns with care and curiosity, not judgment. I draw from EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Eastern philosophy to support healing, growth, and connection to your values. You deserve to live a life with more joy, ease and confidence. Therapy doesn't have to be a one-sided relationship where you're mulling over your entire life's history and all of the pain! In fact, it can be an enjoyable process; a full, engaging relationship with humor, intellect, creativity, spark and curiosity. I'm a real person in the room with you. Together, we will explore solutions and new ways of thinking, feeling and acting. You and I can experiment in sessions to tap into resources or to find new tools to unburden you from emotional pain, whether that be with mindfulness, cognitive, somatic or creative techniques. With 15+ years of experience, many clients have reported positive changes from our work, including less anxiety, more awareness and clarity and healthier relationships. I also specialize working with ACoAs & Codependency. My first job in the field was working at a college counseling center so I'm also very familiar with working with the 18+ crowd and all of the hassles that can come with college living, relationships and school.

If you find yourself constantly caught up in a cycle of overthinking & overachieving, seeking balance and centeredness in your life, I am here to help. Through therapy, we will explore strategies to calm the racing thoughts, ease the pressure of constant doing, and rediscover a sense of harmony within yourself. While we may not possess the ability to directly control our thoughts & feelings, we do hold the power to consciously choose our responses to these internal experiences. Together, we can navigate the challenges you face, while embracing laughter, acceptance, and an authentic connection that promotes growth & well-being. I specialize in treating OCD, anxiety, & perfectionism. I enjoy helping young adults navigate professional, social, & romantic challenges. Therapy should be tailored, not one-size-fits-all. Congratulations on starting this exciting journey of self-discovery! Whether you're well-versed in therapy or just starting out, my aim is to enhance your life & be a valuable support. Anna Lucille Calabrese is a Licensed Master Social Worker with a keen interest in the human drive to create meaning from the raw material of our lives. Dually trained in clinical social work and theology, Anna’s practice is grounded in mind, body, spirit integration. She draws her approach from many sources including Depth Psychology, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Internal Family Systems. Anna provides individual, couples and group therapy. At their core, Anna views all these modalities as relational experiences— providing form and structure that allow clients to deepen the sacred relationship to self and others. Some of her areas of focus include complex trauma, somatic experiencing, emotional regulation, addiction in its many forms, divorce and life transitions, coparenting, the LGBTQIA community, eating disorders and chronic illness. Through all of these areas, and following her client’s lead, Anna brings a creative lens to therapeutic work—often intertwining art, writing, movement, nature, film and music into the healing process. She is also interested in helping clients create ceremony and ritual around the liminal spaces in their lives— be it professional transition, the start and end of relationships, birth and death, or recovery from addiction. Anna holds a BA in Creative Writing from the New School, a Masters of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary and a Masters of Social Work from Columbia University. She has worked as a Chaplin in a hospital, a counselor on Rikers Island and with Buddhist monks on end of life care. Through all these experiences, Anna draws on a simple truth: people desire to make meaning of their lives—no matter the circumstance.
Welcome! I work with adolescents and young adults with trauma, anxiety and depression. Many are struggling to navigate family relationships during life transitions or identity shifts. As a writer, I enjoy working with artists as they navigate creative blocks. I practice from a psychodynamic approach, drawing heavily on attachment theory and relational strengths. I have extensive experience working with college-aged students and young adults. I welcome you to reach out for a phone call to discuss your needs, and whether we might work together.
Hi! My name is Alicia, and I want to meet you. Yes, you! College can be intense. You're away from home with the pressure to succeed and do well, but there's also dealing with roommates, parties, and being around people who resemble aliens. You know, they just don't get you and you've never encountered anyone quite like them before. On top of this, you may be the first in your family to go to college. You can't admit to them that it's hard. They had all their hopes and dreams riding on you. So where to go? Come to therapy! Yes, therapy. It may be your first time talking to someone, but I promise it helps to tell someone what you're thinking and what you're feeling. College doesn't have to be scary, and you don't have to go through it alone. We can figure it out together. I am a licensed clinical social worker who has worked with many college students, especially those who identify as first-gen and/or veterans. Therapy with me is conversational. In sessions, you can speak freely. I'm not into judging. That would probably make me a lousy therapist. I offer thoughtful reflection and point out patterns in your behavior that may not be the most helpful, and then we problem-solve and strategize solutions to help get you feeling better. I can also teach you skills to help when your emotions feel overwhelming.
Have you been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just “blah?” Is balancing your academics, social life, dating, and family contributing to a non-stop feeling of anxiety? Is your inner-critic getting louder, magnifying those "what ifs" and making you question your worth? You're not alone. I am a Columbia University trained therapist specializing in anxiety, complex trauma, and self esteem in young adults. In our work together, you will develop tools to cope with stressors, process past and present painful experiences, and build your confidence to make your life more authentic, fulfilling, and meaningful.

I am a licensed psychologist specializing in anxiety and depression relating to areas such as relationships, multicultural (ie. race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality) identity, adolescent/young adult identity development, and adjusting to academic and career-related stress. I have a background working with both traditional and non-traditional college students within multiple capacities including as an academic advisor, first-generation student counselor, mentor, and adjunct professor. Outside of private practice, I work at Jacobi Medical Center Hospital providing trauma-focused treatment to individuals struggling with chronic medical conditions. Additionally, I am an CUNY adjunct assistant professor within both graduate school counseling/counselor education and undergraduate psychology departments.
I offer culturally-responsive individual therapy for adults struggling with a range of concerns, including anxiety, stress, panic attacks, depression, disordered eating, substance misuse, self-esteem issues, relationship concerns, and life transitions. I am well-versed in working with individuals who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, and provide an affirming space for all gender identities and sexual orientations. I offer in-person sessions at my office in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, as well as the option to meet virtually via HIPAA-compliant Telehealth services.
Life can be chaotic, challenging and heartbreaking, but among all of that, beautiful and awe-inspiring. If you’re reading this, maybe you’ve already read a few of these therapist bios by now, but if you’re feeling alone in life’s big questions then look no further. I take a curious, yet “no-B.S.” stance as we explore life’s intricacies and curve-balls together in the therapeutic process. My experience with adolescents, emerging adults and older adults has helped me create a flexible approach to meet my clients where they’re at. Whether I am working with you, your child, or your family, I strive to create a judgment-free zone for my clients to experience the most authentic version of themselves. I lean on a client-centered approach, meaning that I give my clients the space to be the expert in their own lives. Through mindfulness and dialectical behavioral therapy, I help my clients to practice gaining distance from overwhelming thoughts, feelings and emotions. That being said, I recognize that there is no “one size fits all” approach and I collaborate with my clients along every step of the journey. Showing up to therapy isn’t always easy, and I value the courage and vulnerability that it takes to invite someone into your inner world. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, loneliness, OCD, depression, grief, heartbreak, or a case of “what does it all mean” you won’t be at it alone. Much like the contradictions we encounter in life, the work we will do together will be challenging yet rewarding. I’m currently accepting both virtual and in-person sessions and look forward to hearing from you!
We are a small group of cognitive-behavioral psychologists who specialize in anxiety and OCD. We focus on helping you figure out what your patterns are, and how to change the ones that aren't working for you anymore. In addition to anxiety disorders, we also see patients with ADHD, Autism, and survivors of sexual assault. But don't worry if you're not sure what's wrong - whatever stress or difficulty you're having, we can help you identify it, understand it, and overcome it.
