Do you struggle with setting boundaries, people pleasing, or burning out from perfectionism and a constantly full calendar? Maybe you're juggling school, work, relationships, family expectations, and everything else life throws at you while still feeling like you should be doing more. You might be the person others turn to, but underneath the surface, you're anxious, overwhelmed, or struggling with self doubt. I'm an LCSW with 9 years of experience working with college students and professionals, with a focus on the queer community, neurodivergent individuals, and people living with chronic illness. I've supported clients navigating ADHD, anxiety, burnout, LGBTQ+ identity, complex family and relationship dynamics, substance use, and trauma. I'm trained in CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and executive functioning strategies. It can be challenging to balance everyday life while figuring out what actually works for you. Maybe you struggle to meet deadlines, keep track of everything, shift between tasks, or figure out where to even begin when there's too much on your plate. Add perfectionism, burnout, identity, relationships, or family and community expectations into the mix, and it can be hard to know what you actually need or where your own needs end and everyone else's begin. These patterns often have roots in earlier relationships and experiences, including family dynamics that shape how we relate to ourselves and others. In therapy, we'll explore both the past and present to understand these patterns while building new perspectives, coping skills, and ways of responding that honor your needs. Together, we'll identify what you want to change and what might be getting in the way. This might look like setting boundaries with family, working through perfectionism, figuring out why you keep getting stuck, finding ways to manage school or work without constantly feeling behind, building more confidence in yourself, or navigating major life transitions. No matter your goals, I’ll be here to support you with warmth, curiosity, silliness, and honesty along the way.
I have over 14 years of clinical experience. I have worked with an array of clients over the years which include focuses in anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, and crisis stabilization. My goal is to create a safe space for my clients on their journey to personal growth and healing. I believe that everyone's story is unique to them and will develop a personalized approach for each client using evidence based treatment. I want clients who are feeling stuck to be able to have a place to process what they are going through and share helpful tools with them along the way. I want my clients to be able to have an increased insight in to their emotions and behaviors. I want to help my clients develop a better understanding of what their needs are and how to have those needs be met.
I offer an affirming, safe space for people who identify as POC, LGBTQIA+, and neurodivergent to explore their identities and deconstruct their own narrative within the larger lens of society. I treat both individuals, and couples, ranging from ages 18-40+. I bring warmth, creativity, and a sense of humor into the room, because therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time. If you’re ready to feel a little lighter—and a lot less alone—let’s get started.
My approach is to start where you are. I want to hear your story and your journey. We will explore your concerns and decide together about possible next steps and solutions. I have over 20 years of non-profit social service work, particularly during the peak of the AIDS epidemic. I learned so much about perseverance, courage, and grief through my experience. I look forward to supporting you towards finding the same healing and discovering just how strong you really are. I am a graduate of the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and a proud member of Gen X. I have extensive expertise with LGBTQIA+ young adults, grief and grieving, depression, and anxiety. I am a native New Yorker, a married lesbian in New York City, and a parent to two cranky cats. I am committed to a safe, welcoming space, and my goal is to assist you on the journey towards healing.

I am a very warm, approachable, and down-to-earth practitioner who has been complimented for my ability to make all people feel comfortable while sharing their stories. My areas of specialization include affirmative care for LGBTQ+ and gender-expansive teens and adults as well as management of stress, anxiety, depression, and adjustment to life transitions in adults and adolescents. I am also the Director of Social Work at a high school in New York City where I have worked for 12 years. I deeply value the relationship built between therapist and client, and I rely on it as we dive deep into challenging topics. While I believe the therapist and client relationship alone can be a uniquely healing force, I also infuse elements of many therapeutic modalities into my work depending on the client's individual needs. When working with adolescents, I find it vital to include caregivers in the conversation and the work.
Life can feel overwhelming these days, and meaningful relationships, joys and values can be hard to sustain. The coping patterns we adopt often get in the way of feeling better, and connected with others. My practice fosters an empathetic environment where clients are at ease exploring emotions and concerns. Collaboratively, we address issues such as anxiety, depression and self-esteem struggles, and tackle problems such as relationship difficulties, life transitions, loss and school-related stressors. Jointly, we will define concrete goals, develop real-life coping skills and become more aware of underlying barriers to well-being. I am an LCSW (NYU) with a psychodynamic approach. I also draw on techniques from mindfulness-based therapies and trauma-informed methodologies. A former art history professor and undergraduate advisor (B.A. & M.A., Williams; Ph.D. U.Chicago), I understand the particular challenges college students face. Often, the hardest step about therapy is the decision to begin. I welcome the opportunity to meet you and explore how I can be helpful to you.

Life can resemble a journey filled with straight paths, unexpected curves, and occasional detours. There are moments when we might feel lost, encounter dead ends, or navigate through uncertainty. During these times, having a supportive co-pilot can be invaluable in helping us stay focused on our goals. I frequently employ an integrative approach in my practice. I've observed that Schema Therapy and Humanistic methods enhance our capacity to discover meaning and true fulfillment in life by helping us understand the origins of our current symptoms and transforming unhealthy, self-defeating behaviors. I have over 11 years of experience as a psychotherapist and 8 years in leadership roles. Currently, I serve as a Clinical Director in the nonprofit sector, bringing a supportive and skilled approach to my work with the community we serve. I offer a tailored and comprehensive psychotherapy approach, emphasizing psychoeducation to empower clients on their personal journeys. I invite individuals to embrace the transformative benefits of therapy, offering support through life's challenges. My bilingual practice serves diverse communities with services available in both English and Spanish through secure teletherapy sessions. Before becoming a therapist, I was a college professor. My favorite part of the job was supporting students who were going through it, whether because of the transition of becoming a college student, or because they were experiencing mental health challenges for the first time--or a worsening of symptoms. I love working with clients who are dealing with perfectionism, people-pleasing/boundary setting, communication challenges (with family, roommates, friends, partners), general anxiety, social anxiety, depression, and OCD. I also have a lot of experience and passion working with clients navigating gender and sexuality, including being on the ace/aro spectrums.
