Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Queens, NY

I’m a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Mental Health Counselor committed to providing trauma-informed, culturally attuned care. I work with adults facing anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, and life transitions. As a Latina therapist, I’m passionate about supporting immigrants and first- and second-generation clients navigating cultural identity, intergenerational expectations, and the stigma that can surround mental health. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. I use a personalized approach, drawing from CBT, person-centered, and culturally sensitive approaches to meet your unique needs. I show up with empathy, presence, and care—while also gently challenging you with questions that invite reflection, growth, and new perspectives.

My therapy approach is warm, empowering, and affirming, creating a space where you feel truly seen and supported. I believe in a solution-oriented mindset, helping you navigate challenges with practical tools and meaningful insights. Starting or continuing therapy is a personal and intimidating choice, and I genuinely respect the bravery required. I encourage you to set up a free consultation to explore how we might work together. Reach out, and let’s take it one day at a time—toward a healthier, more balanced you.

I work with students who need more or different support than they are able to access on-campus. You may be looking for long-term therapy or for a therapist who specializes in working with people like you. I am trained in several types of therapy (ACT, DBT, relational, multicultural-feminist) and apply them flexibly based on what you need. Students who work with me are often looking for longer-term therapy, where we address deeper issues in a safe relationship, at your own pace. Others are seeking individual therapy that makes room for activism and the big problems of our time. We may be a good fit for therapy together if you are coping with a difficult family, relationship trouble, recurrent mental health problems (e.g. BPD, PTSD, MDD, GAD), or a life transition (e.g. grief, divorce, pregnancy, moving, spiritual/religious crisis). I also have particular experience working with medical students. Finally, I am a climate-aware and social justice-focused therapist; this means your experience with collective problems like white supremacy and the climate crisis is a welcome, respected, and important part of therapy. I don't take insurance, but I offer sliding scale fees based on financial need. Please reach out to me for a 15-minute phone call to see what might be possible in our work together!

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Therapy works by creating an open and non-judgmental environment for clients to begin reflecting on their experiences. By bringing an authentic and empathic approach to therapy, Peter helps clients explore and access parts of themselves that they may have been closed off to in the past. By exploring past experiences and working creating positive change in the present day, therapy can help increase a client’s ability to navigate relationships, understand their emotions and advocate for themselves. Peter works primarily from psychodynamic and emotion-focused approaches. He believes that relationships form the core of our experiences, and as such, the therapeutic relationship is one of the greatest tools of therapy. Peter strives to bring his authentic self into the therapy space as a way of helping his clients do the same. Peter completed his internship at Fordham University's Counseling & Psychology Services, and has extensive experience working with students and young adults. He completed additional psychodynamic training at the Kull Initiative for Psychotherapy, where he continues to work as a therapist, supervisor, and Associate Clinical Director.

I bring warmth, understanding, and real-life perspective into the therapy space. For over four years, I have worked with young women navigating anxiety, relationship stress, family dynamics, life transitions, and the lasting impact of past experiences. My approach is rooted in psychodynamic therapy, which means we gently explore the patterns and emotions shaping your present so you can better understand yourself and create meaningful change. Together we’ll make sense of what feels overwhelming, build practical tools for coping, and strengthen your sense of self. I see therapy as a collaborative process, and I’ll meet you with honesty, compassion, and a little humor along the way You deserve to feel confident in your choices, secure in your relationships, and kinder toward yourself.
