Too much stress can be overwhelming and will affect our concentration, stamina, and clarity of mind. The very nature of trauma is the experience of too much, a feeling of being overwhelmed. My specialty is in Creativity and Trauma and how one informs the other. This is not easy work, but it can be fun. We use what is called a Bottom Up approach, in combination with a Top Down. What this means is we learn to tune into our body brain and not just our head brain. As a Creative Arts psychotherapist and trauma specialist I've discovered ways to work that help you heal, feel better, and help you make more sense out of your life. When we meet first we find out what is going on, what has gone on, and how we want to use our time together. We can continue to talk; we may include some of the modalities in which I am trained (Art Therapy, EMDR...). It depends on what you are most comfortable with, and fits your particular issues and concerns Please know I am exclusively working online

Do you find yourself relentlessly pursuing the expectations of others without considering what you expect or want for yourself? Early adulthood can be tumultuous, with major life transitions, evolving relationship dynamics, and challenging academic or professional responsibilities. Frequent changes and uncertainty may leave you feeling burned out and may trigger stress, frustration, or symptoms of anxiety or depression. Sometimes we feel overwhelmed by everything that we believe we need to do and need to be. I will help you challenge your assumptions which may have you feeling stuck. My goal is to provide you with a welcoming space to be heard and to process your thoughts and feelings. Let’s explore new perspectives, answer thought-provoking questions, and examine your self-talk. Insights from those discussions will help us identify behavioral patterns which may be contributing to your distress. We will collaboratively develop a plan to adjust those reactions to create balance in your life, while prioritizing what is practical and important to you. This personalized approach will help you build confidence, manage stress, and effectively communicate with those you care about or work closely with. You and I will leverage your strengths to develop a more sustainable lifestyle with meaning and purpose. MSW, Columbia University BS, Cornell University
I am a New York State licensed psychologist with over a decade of experience. I work with adults of diverse backgrounds and my areas of special interest include difficult life transitions, relationship conflict, racial/cultural identity, and grief and loss. I offer online video therapy sessions (telehealth) exclusively, making therapy comfortable and accessible. Whether you are struggling with negative feelings toward yourself, dissatisfaction with relationships, your academic performance or are having difficulty letting go of the past, experiencing fear about the future, or simply feeling stuck in current circumstances, therapy can bring about needed change. To achieve this, our work together may involve finding meaning and purpose, establishing or recovering a connection to your inner emotional world and/or important people around you, processing and recovering from emotional wounds, be they old or recent, or formulating a concrete plan of action and working on it together step by step. My theoretical orientation is primarily psychodynamic and I integrate other approaches (i.e. DBT, CBT, etc.) as appropriate while always working from a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive lens. I am Zur Institute certified in teletherapy. I offer a free brief phone consultation prior to scheduling an initial appointment in order to clarify whether teletherapy with me would be a good fit. Hi, I’m Megan—Licensed Therapist (LCSW) Starting therapy in college can feel overwhelming—maybe you’re navigating new independence, academic pressure, identity questions, or a recent breakup. Or maybe you're simply looking for someone steady to talk to. Whatever brings you here, I aim to make therapy feel approachable, collaborative, and actually helpful—not stiff or one-sided. I work with students managing a range of concerns, including anxiety, trauma, perfectionism, ADHD, and relationship or family stress. My style is warm, down-to-earth, and rooted in trauma-informed care. I have a particular interest in working with students who are high-functioning on the outside but feeling overwhelmed or stuck internally—those who are used to keeping it together for everyone else but could use some space to focus on themselves. Whether you’re sorting through a situationship, burnout, or just trying to figure out who you are in this stage of life, I offer a nonjudgmental space to reflect, feel supported, and build lasting change. Humor and real talk welcome.
I believe that what brings many people to therapy is a sense of disconnection (from themselves, others, or the world around them). Alongside disconnection, clients may experience depression, anxiety, stress, relationship concerns, job/career concerns, loneliness, anger, body pains, among other symptoms. I’m passionate about working with clients to help them identify, understand, and reconnect with the parts of themselves and their experiences that they disconnected from throughout the years. It is through this work that clients are able to show up more authentically and experience greater meaning and fulfillment in their lives. I work primarily from relational and attachment based frameworks while incorporating complementary modalities, prioritizing client needs/goals. My specialty is working with individuals with relationship concerns, identity exploration, and life transitions. Additionally, I have expertise working with college/graduate students and emerging adults. I wholeheartedly believe that much of the healing and growth process occurs within the context of relationships (whether that be in the relationships with others or with yourself). Therefore, I emphasize the importance of finding a good fit with a therapist and encourage reaching out if you feel we may be a good fit. I look forward to connecting!

I partner with adolescents and adults looking to address anxiety disorders, depression, self-esteem issues, and family dynamic challenges. I take a relational and empathetic approach and work to provide a safe space for clients to discuss their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. The therapeutic relationship is a privilege, and I am grateful to listen and try to understand how you see the world. I received my MSW at Fordham University. I trained in a hospital setting where I conducted group/individual therapy in an acute inpatient psychiatric unit. I take a holistic approach to understanding my clients and use psychodynamic and evidence based-practices (CBT) to help clients observe patterns of thoughts and behaviors with compassion. Thank you for having the courage to ask for help. Wherever you are starting from, I am happy to meet you there. No topic is off limits.
I often work with young people struggling to understand who they are and why they do the things they do. This may be felt as a gnawing sense of dissatisfaction or despair, or a more intense experience of feeling lost and out of control. We work together to identify your concerns in a safe environment that emphasizes giving language to emotional experience, identifying unconscious patterns of behavior, and finding meaning in your life.
