We all have struggles. Despite our best efforts and intentions, those struggles can leave us feeling overwhelmed and we don't even understand how we got here. I want to help you explore and address your concerns, by encouraging a sense of curiosity and humor, when appropriate. Rather than approach our troubles with trepidation, why not approach them with interest – be curious about ourselves, how we came to be who/how we are, how the things we have tried have worked/not worked or even made things worse and what other options may exist that we have not yet thought of or tried? Learning to be curious about ourselves and the challenges we face, and to find humor and grace along the way, allows us to be less judgmental and feel less ashamed of ourselves and our struggles, so we can build a life we want on more solid ground. I’m a psychologist with 20 years of experience working with college-aged (traditional and non) individuals. I have a very collaborative approach – you are the expert on you. I incorporate a number of therapy approaches, using what I believe will best fit you and the difficulties discussed. I know how difficult it is to seek help and it's my job to make this easier by offering a warm, empathetic and safe place to explore and address your concerns. If you are ready to feel better about yourself and explore how you might meaningfully address the challenges in your life, I am excited to join you in this process!
Note: I work for Wellness Works Counseling, LLC. Feel free to call the number below and request to work with me if it seems we will be a good fit! Tina blends DBT- and CBT-informed skills with psychodynamic and relational perspectives, tailoring treatment to each individual’s unique needs. She strives to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel understood and empowered, honoring clients as the experts in their own lives while working together toward meaningful change. Relationships can be hard. Communication can be challenging. Feeling anxious, uncertain, directionless, or out-of-control can feel overwhelming and at times debilitating. It is so easy to become stuck in a cycle of frustration or hopelessness which creates thought loops fixated on these feelings. It can feel impossible to see what lies beyond the immediate struggles we can’t seem to work through. While most of us feel the need to address these struggles, so few of us have the time or energy to “fix” these stuck points and successfully move past them. That’s where I step in to help. If interested, please send me an email and we'll schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we're a good fit.

Maybe chronic stress, anxiety, or trauma has your nervous system stuck on high alert, so that even when life is relatively stable, you don't actually feel that way. Maybe your past experiences show up now as hypervigilance, tension, irritability, insomnia, or shutting down. Maybe you're managing burnout, depression, relationship struggles, or patterns you just can't seem to shake. Maybe you're tired of merely surviving and ready to actually feel different. With a background in social justice, many of my clients are queer, activists, neurodivergent, and others for whom identity/politics/systemic context are part of their story. We start by helping your body feel safer through various approaches such as biofeedback, breathwork/meditation, or the Safe and Sound Protocol so your nervous system doesn’t have to work so hard. From there, we look deeper at the patterns, relationships, and stories that shaped how you move through the world. We explore what matters to you at your own pace. Our work together isn't about fixing what's "wrong" with you. It's about understanding what has happened to you, how you've adapted, and finding out what is possible when we have more awareness and more options. My approach is a deeply relational one. You're the expert on your own life and I'm here to serve as a supporter and collaborator in the process.
