I work with individuals who are seeking support with living a richer, less restricted life navigating anxiety, difficult transitions, complex trauma, and challenges with relationships. The process of turning inward in therapy - to interrogate how your present is being colored by the past and bringing understanding to patterns of relating to yourself and others can be incredibly transformative and life changing.
After 40+ years of experience working with depression, anxiety, and stress management, I continue to find deep gratification in helping people relieve suffering and transform their lives. If sexuality is part of your problem, I am one of few professionals certified as a sex therapist, supervisor, and fellow by the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists. I work exclusively with teletherapy, which I find to be as effective as in-person sessions. You can reach me best at robsch77@gmail.com
My individual practice is made up of college students who are in college or soon to be transitioning into the real world. My model is CBT , but tailor sessions to the needs of each individual. Some students might need hands on direction , while others just a supportive and safe place to share and have someone listen. I feel I provide a comforting and safe environment . I love to focus on mindfulness tools to help with stress and time management.

I have extensive experience working with adolescents and young adults (we call that Transition Aged youth in the biz) with a particular interest and experience with ADHD, Anxiety, OCD, Depression, Bipolar Disorders, Psychosis-symptoms, Trichotillomania, Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental disorders. How are you doing with the dystopia? I'm Cori, and with me, therapy starts by acknowledging that we are living in the dark ages. But my clients are heroic. They're intrepid. They're wise. They are struggling to make meaning and survive in a harsh and terrifying era. Most of us feel pretty powerless. I try to offer a brand of queer Buddhist wizardry that helps people break generational curses, find the power they DO have, and create community that sustains them. I offer many evidence based approaches to therapy, especially those that help us change our relationship with ourselves, and changing our relationship with life and reality. Existential therapy, acceptance & commitment therapy, and narrative approaches are my bread-and-butter. I also work from a great deal of other experiences; as an activist, queer organizer, drag artist, social work professor, and a student of many wisdom traditions. I lived abroad in both Europe and Asia and know how alienating, frightening, and difficult it can be to adjust to a radically different culture. I studied tàijíquán and Daoist thought on Wǔdāng mountain in central China from 2010 to 2011, and have studied and practiced Buddhism since 2011 with various Tibetan, Bhutanese, and western Lamas.

I use multiple approaches in my practice to create an experience tailored to each client’s individual strengths, values, and goals. I received my master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Bryn Mawr College in 1995, and have been a therapist since that time. I have been in private practice in State College since 2006. My approach to therapy is diverse; I tend to practice from primarily interpersonal and psychodynamic perspectives, although I also draw from cognitive-behavioral paradigms. I see my role as provider of a safe and supportive environment in which to help individuals become more aware of the multiple aspects of themselves. A main component of the therapy consists of understanding how each person’s ‘story’ impacts who they are, and affects the difficulties they presently face. Clients are encouraged to consider their readiness for change as well as options for change that are both meaningful and realistic to them.
