Therapists for college students near Temple University
Thank you for taking the first step and reaching out for support. My name is Gina Hernandez from Guided Path Therapy and Consulting and I am licensed in NJ, PA and Fl. Therapy is not a one size fits all, so I customize the sessions based on the goals you have for yourself. Therapy offers a space that’s just for you — to talk things out, understand yourself better, and learn tools to manage everything life throws your way. Whether you’re struggling with motivation, relationships, identity, or the weight of perfectionism, you don’t have to handle it alone. Our sessions focus on: Stress and Anxiety Management: Learn healthy ways to cope and find calm. Self-Confidence and Identity: Discover who you are and what truly matters to you. Relationships and Communication: Build stronger, more authentic connections. Balance and Boundaries: Find peace between school, work, and personal life. Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you — it’s about helping you grow into your best self. You deserve support that understands the challenges of college life and helps you navigate them with confidence and clarity. Your journey to a better tomorrow starts here and I would be honored to be there with you on this path.
I work with individuals of all ages who seek to improve their communication skills, stress management, self-esteem, life transitions, and symptoms related to mental health diagnoses. My ultimate goal is to empower you to grow more resilient and confident in your ability to manage life’s challenges. My ideal clients are courageous and curious to know themselves more deeply, motivated to take steps towards identifying what is helping and hindering them in living the life they want, and are open to learning and practicing new ways of tending to their relationships with self and others- and dusting off old ones too! My approach is tailored to each individual's unique needs, incorporating aspects from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy to create a strength's based environment. I focus on cultivating awareness and insight into the thought and behavior patterns that impact your daily functioning. I want therapy to be what you need it to be- my hope is that we are able to spend our time being present, focusing on any of life’s challenges, changes, or celebrations you'd like to discuss. Building a trusting relationship is key, and I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and empathetic space where you can openly express your thoughts and feelings.
Have you not been feeling yourself lately? Have you been feeling overwhelmed? It really does help to talk to someone! As a registered and board-certified Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor, I have a passion for using a creative approach to help people move towards healing, greater insights, and self-expression. I tailor my therapy to meet your specific needs and strive to provide a warm, positive, and inviting space for healing and creative expression. Welcome to Unspoken Roots Psychotherapy! My name is Edward Chan, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of Unspoken Roots Psychotherapy. I specialize in supporting Asian American college students and young adults as they navigate the unique challenges that can come from balancing personal goals, family expectations, cultural values, and the pressures of academic and professional success. Many Asian American students grow up carrying messages about achievement, responsibility, sacrifice, and making their families proud. While these values can be sources of strength, they can also contribute to anxiety, perfectionism, self-criticism, burnout, difficulty setting boundaries, and a persistent feeling of never being "good enough." You may find yourself succeeding on paper while privately struggling with stress, loneliness, imposter syndrome, or uncertainty about who you are beyond what you accomplish. Therapy offers a space to slow down and explore these experiences without judgment. Together, we can better understand the influences that have shaped you, process the challenges you're facing, and develop practical tools to manage anxiety, build self-confidence, strengthen relationships, and create a life that feels aligned with your own values—not just the expectations placed upon you. My approach integrates evidence-based therapies including CBT, ACT, DBT, and insight-oriented therapy while remaining sensitive to the cultural, familial, and identity-related experiences that many Asian American students navigate. Whether you're struggling with academic pressure, family dynamics, relationships, career decisions, or your sense of belonging, you don't have to carry it alone. At Unspoken Roots Psychotherapy, I strive to create a space where the experiences that often go unspoken can be explored openly, helping you cultivate greater self-understanding, balance, and fulfillment as you navigate college and beyond.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey. I graduated from Widener University where I earned a master’s in Social Work. While at Widener, I completed a certificate in the treatment of trauma. I began my career at Ambrosia Treatment Center, a substance abuse disorder facility. Over the past five years I have worked in all levels of care within the substance use field. I created a program to treat substance use and eating disorders concurrently. After this program I began building a private practice where I work primarily with individuals who have co-occurring eating disorders and substance use. Outside of Guide to Wellness, I help treatment centers across the country implement veterans programs at their facilities. I use a collaborative approach in treatment. I like to meet clients where they are in their lives and work collaboratively with the individual to create an individualized treatment experience. My approach draws heavily from ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), CBT and exposure therapy. I work to create a trusting, non-judgmental relationship with the individual. I see myself as someone who presents opportunities to the individual and allow them to be the decision maker. I feel my role is to help the individual see the whole picture in their choices.
Have you ever thought, “Why is this happening to me?”, “I feel so alone,” or “Is this normal?” If so, you’re not alone—and I would love to support you. Whether you’re juggling the demands and transitions of daily life or navigating the complex and long-lasting effects of trauma, I can offer a safe and validating space where your experiences are heard, honored and supported. I provide couples’ and individual counseling for adolescents (ages 14+) and adults experiencing trauma, eating disorders, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), anxiety, depression, self-harm, and self-esteem challenges. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I use a trauma-informed approach and draw from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness. With a trauma-focused therapeutic style, I support individuals in understanding their emotional experiences, building regulation skills, and learning to cope in helpful and appropriate ways. Whether you’re ready to challenge unhelpful thought patterns or simply need someone to listen and hold space, I am here for you.
Hi, I’m Shannon Mick, NCC, LPC, founder of Finish Stronger Counseling. I provide compassionate virtual therapy to adults across Pennsylvania who are ready to overcome anxiety, trauma, and eating disorders—especially endurance runners and athletes who want to feel strong in both mind and body. As a semi-professional ultramarathoner and assistant running coach myself, I truly understand the unique mental challenges that come with the sport: DNFs, DNSs, injury recovery, training balance, body image, and the relentless drive to push your limits. My holistic, movement-informed approach blends evidence-based therapy with real-world strategies that honor the mind-body connection athletes live every day. Using CBT, DBT, and ACT, I help clients address root causes, build resilience, and develop the mindset tools they need to cross every finish line—on the trail and in life. Whether you’re navigating performance anxiety, rebuilding after a setback, or simply wanting to feel like yourself again, my goal is simple: help you finish stronger. I offer a free 10–15 minute phone consult so we can see if we’re the right fit. An email is okay, too. Let’s get started—your next strong chapter is waiting. Mindset and mental wellness coaching is another service that I provide to ultramarathon runners in the U.S.
Each of us lives our story in chapters—some filled with joy, others with hardship, and many with the quiet in-betweens. As a therapist, I see my role as walking alongside people as they turn the page, helping them make meaning of the past while creating space for new beginnings. I believe we all hold the keys within us: keys to resilience, healing, growth, and self-understanding. I utilize a strength-based approach to treatment as well as incorporate various styles that suit your needs. My practice is grounded in creating a safe and supportive environment to create a healthier future while honoring the past.

I am passionate about helping individuals on their path to self-discovery and leading a genuine and authentic life. Drawing upon my background in counseling and neuroscience, I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and existentialism into my approach. I also offer Psychedelic Harm Reduction and Integration therapy. I aim to help individuals cultivate openness, awareness, and engagement with themselves, their loved ones, and the world around them. By incorporating meditation, relevant literature, art, and nature, I aim to create a holistic therapeutic experience. These elements enrich the exploration of subjective experiences, self-perception, and the profound aspects of existence. ACT emphasizes acceptance of one's thoughts, emotions, and experiences, while also encouraging commitment to taking meaningful action aligned with one's values. In our sessions, I guide individuals to develop psychological flexibility, allowing them to respond more effectively to life's challenges and pursue a rich and purposeful life. While I am excited to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, I have a special interest in supporting those who experience chronic conditions such as pain, grief, psychosis, and trauma. Together, we will delve into meaningful discussions about topics like death, identity, and the transformative potential within each person's existence.

You may look like you have it all together yet inside you feel anxious, exhausted, or like you’re never “enough.” The need to be “perfect”, frequent memories of past traumatic experiences, or challenges navigating unfulfilling relationships may have left you feeling disconnected from yourself and who you believe you truly are. You want to feel present, more confident, and at peace with yourself - to stop just “surviving” and start healing. My approach is rooted in EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and mindfulness-based therapies, aiming to help release the emotional charge of painful memories while gaining greater self-awareness, compassion, and balance. Together, we’ll work to heal old wounds, quiet self-doubt, and cultivate a more grounded, fulfilling life. You don’t have to carry the weight of “having it all together” anymore. In doing the work, you can reconnect with your strength and rediscover peace within yourself. If this resonates with you, I invite you to reach out. Healing can begin with one courageous step.
