At EmBODY Confidence, we support neurodivergent women and teens who struggle with eating disorders, body dysmorphia, anxiety, low self-esteem, and emotional dysregulation. Our approach is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and self-understanding, helping you feel truly at home in your body without shame or apology. You want to trust your emotions, take up space, eat without guilt, and show up fully in your life. We are here to help you get there with compassion, clarity, and courage. Together, we explore the deeper roots of your struggles, build awareness of the systems that created them, and develop tools for lasting change. We work collaboratively, because you know yourself and your body best. We are a fat-positive, anti-diet, LGBTQIA+, and gender-affirming practice aligned with Health at Every SizeĀ® (HAES). EmBODY Confidence is neurodivergent-affirming and committed to creating a space where every body, identity, and mind is welcomed and safe. Research shows that neurodivergent women and LGBTQIA+ individuals are more likely to experience eating disorders or disordered eating patterns than cisgender individuals. Unfortunately, traditional treatment models often fail to meet their unique needs. Our work bridges that gap with affirming, specialized care designed specifically for you. You do not have to do this alone. Healing is possible and you are absolutely worthy of it.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship, the relationship between the therapist and the client, is the cornerstone of therapy and is an essential tool in working through interpersonal issues. I would provide a warm and safe environment in which to collaboratively address your concerns. Therapy would entail learning skills to more effectively cope with your stressors and exploring your understanding of yourself and underlying causes of your difficulties in order to enhance your quality of life. While this process can be challenging, it can also be meaningful and rewarding. I have experience working in community and academic settings with diverse adult populations experiencing a wide array of problems.
Perhaps you find yourself struggling with depression and anxiety, struggling with relationships, work or school. Perhaps difficulty communicating, not sure who you are? I can help you. Through active interaction, application of CBT, DBT and mindfulness skills, I will help you explore what is keeping you stuck, how to heal and how to live the life that matters to you.
Iām not your ājust nod and validate everythingā therapist. I have a B.S. from Penn State and an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (Children, Adolescents, and Trauma) from Lock Havenābut more importantly, I meet you where you are, not where you āshouldā be. I use person-centered and parts work, but Iām flexible and tailor therapy to what actually works for you. I love working with teens and young adults, but if youāve got a brain and feelings, weāll get along. Iām direct, I use humor, and Iāll call you out (with care). Iām here to help you growāeven when itās uncomfortable. My style? Person-centered and parts work at the core, with flexibility built in. I adjust, pivot, and pull from different approaches based on what actually helps you, not what sounds the most clinical or impressive. I want all of my clients to walk into my room and feel as though they are sitting down with a friend, not a professional. I focus heavily on building rapport, getting to know you as an individual and not just as "my client." We will laugh, cry, process, and cope together in your mental wellness journey!

I strive not to be one of "those" clinicians who wear a fake grin while holding a clipboard. Life is not that simple, and it doesn't need to be approached that way. I firmly embrace a person-centered approach, which affords me the freedom to explore different perspectives. If you are contemplating seeing someone, I encourage you to take the first step towards bettering yourself and understanding your own emotional depth. I offer free 15-minute screenings to consult and see if I would be a good fit for you; otherwise, I am more than happy to help you find a provider that has the most potential impact for your needs.
My ideal client is someone who is dedicated to finding a way to thrive in this life. My approach uses positive psychotherapy to find those things about you that are special and help you to grow them. My ideal client is someone who not only wants to address the things that are going wrong in their lives, but someone who also wants to identify what is great about their life and find ways to build on that. Positive psychotherapy is about promoting your well-being as a whole person. We do this by defining what well-being is and looking at ways it is being achieved or not achieved in our clients. Additionally, we will look closely at your character strength and find ways of sharpening them so as to contribute to your overall happiness. Life is filled with joy and challenge. Our job as people is to find meaning in those struggles that make up our day-to-day life. Together, you and I will work to find YOUR meaning and to create strategies that will strengthen you as you grow and thrive in your life as you live it.
