me: In a relational, humanistic, and conversational style, and through an attachment-oriented lens, I am focused on harnessing the powerful dynamic of the therapeutic relationship, in order to help individuals locate within themselves a sense of meaning and purpose in the here and now. I am focused on developing each client’s ability to maintain internal validity and positive self-regard, in order to reduce self-shame, self-judgement, and self-harm. you: While I work with individual adults of all ages, most of my clients tend to be 25-45, and coming to therapy to work through a variety of human challenges and stressors often associated with complications that occur in the life-stage transitions from adolescence to early adulthood and early adulthood into middle age. For many of us, these life-stage transitions are often extended and/or delayed, leading to feelings of pscyho-emotional paralysis and “stuckness” in repeated patterns of behavior. My practice is also further specialized in working with performing artists and other creative/artistic professionals. The intersectionality of psycho-emotional health and creative identity/artistic process is an area of experience and particular interest to me. Having trained and worked professionally as an actor, prior to earning a master’s degree in clinical social work, I am deeply focused on using the shared language of artistic development to help other artists utilize the many tools and skills they’ve already developed for self-reflection and craft honing as artists, in order to help them create growth, change, and fulfillment in their personal and professional lives. Although many of my clients meet diagnostic criteria for depression, trauma, and anxiety, I aim to see people beyond the diagnosis and view them as the whole human beings they are. us: Together, we will have a meaningful relationship intended to support and foster your personal growth, resilience, healing, and ability to create internal validity, as well as meaning and purpose in the moment. Our relationship exists within the context and framework of weekly, or bi-weekly, 45-minute conversations, focused on examining all aspects of how your pscyho-emotional health and wellbeing correspond to your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. No human is broken. We are all operating in the exact way the human system was intended to operate, by adapting; sometimes for the better, and other times to our own detriment. We are all the logical conclusion of the sum of our total experiences. Therefore, we will work jointly to piece together your narrative in a way that connects the total sum of your experiences to your present thoughts, feelings, and behavioral patterns, in order to learn to move forward, create change, and become the future self that is still yet unrealized.

I work best with students who feel overwhelmed by the pressure to keep everything together on their own. Many of my clients are juggling classes, relationships, family expectations, and their own mental health, and they're tired of pretending they're fine. I especially connect with students navigating anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, or big transitions like starting college, switching majors, or returning to school after time away. Clients often come in feeling stuck, stressed, or unsure of what they want, but they're also thoughtful, motivated, and ready for a space where they don't have to perform. If you're someone who wants support untangling what's working, what's not, and how to move toward a life that feels more balanced, grounded, and genuinely yours, we'll be a great fit.

College life is hard. The pressure, the transitions, the anxiety that won't shut off, the days when getting out of bed feels impossible — you don't have to white-knuckle through it alone. I'm Cheryl, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20+ years of experience helping people understand what's actually happening in their brain when anxiety, depression, and stress take over — and rewire those patterns using real, practical tools. Not just coping strategies. Actual change. Using CBT, ACT, and neuroplasticity-based techniques, we'll work together as partners to build a mind that works for you — not against you. For students who want their faith woven into their healing, Christian counseling is also available. Telehealth across Colorado. Currently accepting new clients.
Over the last 25 years I have worked with clients who are seeking, peace, healing and develop insight and self-awareness. In my work with clients, there are several treatment modalities utilized, primarily CBT, Somatic Therapy, Whole Person and art therapy. One of my primary focuses with my clients is to create and/or improve their self-care plan since it is instrumental in managing daily stressors and mental health concerns. Self-care is important for me to also have in place and my self-care plan includes photography, being an avid football fan (and most sports), time with my friends and family
Desiree Argentina offers a holistic approach to therapy and is passionate about working with students. If insight alone hasn’t changed your patterns, something deeper is begging to be understood. High functioing anxiety? Disconnected, or stuck in repeating relationship and life patterns? Overwhelmed or just plain blah? It's life changing to incorporate body, mind and heart to fully develop a strong internal sense of self. I integrate psychotherapy with the Enneagram and yoga therapy to uncover the unconscious patterns driving stress, attachment, and emotional reactivity. Knowing your Enneagram type and subtype often accelerates therapy by revealing why you cope the way you do—so change becomes embodied, precise, and lasting. With 25+ years of experience, I offer a holistic, trauma-informed approach integrating cognitive behavioral and somatic therapy. My style is straightforward and supportive. As a 2x published author, Enneagram-certified therapist, and yoga therapist, I work with individuals and couples to customize mind-body treatment that supports real, lasting change. Witnessing the transformation as you move from wounded, unbalanced and fearful, to being empowered, focused and self-reliant, is one of my greatest rewards. The power of growth never fails to amaze me, and I am grateful to be part of your journey! I welcome you to begin this process! Now, all you have to do is click the button to start. I've got you! :)
Has traditional talk therapy not quite worked for you? I'd love to help you try something different! While talking things out can often hold a lot of value, I don't believe it should be the only tool in the toolbox. I want to help you heal from what you're struggling with, not just cope. I help my clients get to the root of their inner experiences and feel more connected to themselves, their life, and others. I specialize in helping people compassionately navigate their inner world- working through experiences like anxiety, depression, trauma, people pleasing, self worth, identity, relational struggles, and perfectionism. We'll connect to your emotions, understand how your inner world came to be, and move towards connecting to your most grounded, authentic self. I am trained in internal family systems (IFS) and use it as my primary approach. I value the relationship between the mind and body; also incorporating somatic, nervous system regulation, mindfulness, and values work. In our work together, you will experience collaboration, careful listening, encouragement, and humor. I believe you are the expert of your own life and my role is to support you in strengthening your relationship with yourself! If you're interested in working together, please feel free to reach out. I work best with people who are curious about understanding themselves and the experiences that have shaped them. Many of the students and clients I support are navigating anxiety, stress, relationships, identity, career questions, major life decisions, or feeling unsure about their next steps. In addition to being a counselor, I am a psychology and career development educator. I regularly work with college students exploring their strengths, values, goals, and the question many of us face during transitions: “Who am I, and where do I want to go from here?” My approach is collaborative and human. Together, we explore your story with curiosity rather than criticism, better understand patterns, reconnect with your strengths and values, and build practical tools to help you move forward with more intention.
Are you having trouble with falling and staying asleep? Are you feeling anxious and overwhelmed? I specialize in working with people who are having trouble sleeping, who are experiencing anxiety, and who are going through reproductive transitions or who are experiencing distress related to their reproductive health (e.g., PMDD, pregnancy, postpartum, infertility). In my work, I aim to cultivate a safe space to hold and honor your emotions, while also providing you with new coping tools to help you process your emotions, get some distance from your thoughts, and help you engage with your life. To do this, I use a blend of evidence-based psychotherapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy.
We all have stories, narratives, truths. The way we interpret and experience the world is unique to each individual. It’s about understanding how the fabric of your life is woven and can be potentially rewoven. It is nearly impossible to avoid societal messages telling us how we should think, feel, behave. For that reason, it can be exhausting to manage external pressures, and oftentimes your self-care and mental health is compromised. Therapy can look different for each person. I meet you where you are at and support you in getting to where you strive to be. Therapy can be a place to develop skills, feel heard, and feel empowered. No issue is too difficult, shameful, or embarrassing to bring to the table, and I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable and welcomed no matter what. My approach is inherently empathetic, non-judgmental, and strengths based. I often take a mindful approach to our sessions. I utilize techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), but I emphasize a collaborative environment in order to fit what works best for you.
I work best with college students who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to balance school, relationships, and life transitions. Many are navigating anxiety, stress, relationship concerns, or the impact of past experiences. My goal is to support students in healing, transforming unhelpful patterns, and building the tools they need to thrive—both in college and beyond.
I have experience working with Depression, Anxiety, Life Transitions, Grief & Loss, and more. I believe that people from all walks of life can benefit from therapy. In my work with clients, like you, I hold the belief that authenticity, positive regard, collaboration, and humor can create positive change in the lives of others. My goal is to create a safe space for you to experience healing. I believe that each client has an individualized lens of the world, based on their past & present experiences. With this being said, I work to understand the identities, experiences, & beliefs that each client holds. Together, we can work to process these experiences so that you can learn to live a more whole and happy life. I take an eclectic approach to therapy, meaning that I use a variety of theories & techniques in order to meet the individual needs of the client. I consider myself a student in life & am always striving to learn more from my peers and my clients. Asking for help can be scary, but know that I am here to support you through all phases of your life. You are capable of healing! You have made it this far, so send me a message to see if we'll be a good fit for your counseling needs.
