I work best with students seeking to understand the deeper sources of their issues. Many students experience anxiety and depression especially when first entering college. This can be very difficult and disruptive personally, socially and academically. Often there are feelings of deep sadness, uncertainty, fear, loneliness, shame and anger. There is a way through this difficult time and I would be very interested to work it through with you.

The evaluation process includes time spent in direct contact with individuals and/or caregivers via clinical interviews and caregiver interviews for children and adolescents, face-to-face testing, scoring and interpreting assessment data, reviewing records, completing collateral calls with providers or support persons (if/as appropriate and with a release of information), writing the evaluation report, and providing feedback. I've always been a strong believer that your mindset and behaviors can be a significant game changer in the way things are in life. CBT and Mindfulness perspectives are what I work from most, but I also incorporate other methods that will best help you work through, gain insight and clarity in what you're seeking to improve or change. As a therapist, it's important to feel safe and comfortable to share your story. My goal and hope is that you feel as comfortable as you would going over to a friends house, sitting on their couch and having a meaningful conversation. I truly honor the therapeutic space that my clients have and to hear their stories. When you feel ready, I am here to listen

“Why am I like this?” Not enough... too much...! You’ve always felt misunderstood by the people closest to you, and here you are AGAIN attempting to find a therapist that gets you. The more you're misunderstood by others, the more you lose touch with yourself. A new medication, googling life's problems, scrolling your fyp for answers to why life seems to hate you. Your relationships are shallow and dissatisfying... more like... nonexistent. It's hard to connect when you are deep and different. Life is fucking lonely. You’re ready to start liking yourself. Fear won't hold you back from working through the hard shit anymore! I want you to know that your idea of your ideal life is what matters to me most. I value authenticity, transparency, and humanness in my office, because your "weird" isn't really that weird at all! I specialize in working with misunderstood rebels and rule benders who want to be SEEN for who they really are rather than what others want them to be.

* ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS* Over the course of our lives, we experience life changes and unexpected events. Therapy is a place where one can process and adjust to these transitions and events. Through my education and experience, I have learned how to help clients work through these changes. Therapy will not only help one learn skills during this time of adjustment, but it will also help one learn how they can utilize these skills and strengths when they need them in the future. Over the past few years, through practicums and work experience, I have learned how to help clients across many populations adjust to life's changes. Please call or email with any questions. I look forward to hearing from you and how we can work together to help you move forward.

Dave Kyrie has dedicated his career to the service of others. With 18 years in healthcare, he has worked in a variety of settings including trauma, intensive care, behavioral health, surgical recovery, and deployed medicine with the US Army. He has seen how the challenges and tragedies of life can affect people, and his dedication to help others to recover in a hospital changed to a passion to collaborate with patients to improve the quality of their life. This passion led him to pursue education as a PMHNP where he focused primarily on adult and adolescent mood disorders, traumatic response, and recovery from substance use disorders. Dave believes that all individuals have inherent value and are deserving of help and opportunities to improve their life. Dave works collaboratively with adults and adolescents, aged 12 years and up who experience symptoms such as depression, anxiety, mood swings, difficulty with sleep, substance use disorders, and other behavior disruptions.
