Prior to private practice, I worked in a college counseling center and specialized in working with first-generation college students, students of color, LGBTQ students, students who are immigrants or are children of immigrants, and international students. Psychotherapy: I work from an integrative perspective, rooted in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (especially Schema Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and Attachment Theory. Treatment goals are collaboratively set with options for short-term or long-term therapy. I specialize in working with clients dealing with the stresses of intersectional identities, particularly clients who identify as women, non-binary, LGBTQ, refugees, immigrants, and/or of color. Other areas of expertise include: anxiety, depression, complex/developmental trauma, self-esteem, assertiveness, and relationship issues. As a therapist, I am authentic, warm, collaborative, and can gently confront if needed. Life Coaching is present- and future-focused and solution-focused. Life coaching sessions are usually short-term and are scheduled depending on specific goals. As a life coach, I strive to be your most thoughtful collaborator, most compassionate sounding board, and loudest cheerleader.

Do you struggle with daily negative thoughts and low mood? School or work stress? Feeling hopeless about the future and wondering if you will ever feel better? If so, I think we could be a good fit together in therapy. In sessions, I utilize a mix of actively listening and offering concrete tools to help you feel better and reach your goals. These tools are from research-backed treatments called cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). I also enjoy incorporating my sense of humor and positive demeanor to help you feel understood and motivated during our treatment together. I am licensed in New York and Massachusetts. My practice is currently virtual. In addition to my private practice, I am a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychology in Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College, where I teach psychology and psychiatry graduate students. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions! I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to answer your questions and see whether I would be a good fit for your therapy goals.

Have you been in therapy before or are you new to mental health therapy? My goal as your therapist is to meet you where you are at and move together towards the changes you would like to see. I pull from a variety of different styles to address your goals, including skill building, CBT, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed care approaches. I hope to foster a space where you feel seen and heard and where you are able to take care of what has brought you to therapy (or back to therapy) in the first place. I offer weekly, bi-weekly, or, in some cases, monthly sessions at 45 or 60 minutes in length via telehealth. All sessions start with a phone call where we 1) make sure I am the right fit for you, 2) verify your insurance or payment method is active and all set, and 3) schedule you an intake and an ongoing appointment time that works for your schedule. I return all calls and email requests for therapy services and hope that I may be of help to you at this point in time or, at the very least, be able to point you in the right direction.
