Therapists for college students near Ann Arbor, MI
Hello and welcome! My name is Elizabeth Falzon and I am a fully licensed therapist and the owner of Apricity Therapy Services in St. Clair Shores. A little bit about myself, I graduated from Saginaw Valley State University in 2017 with my undergraduate degree in Social Work. In 2018 I graduated from Michigan State University with my masters in Social Work. I love my job and I love working with my clients. I particularly enjoy working with college age people. I have a lot of experience working with people diagnosed with ADHD and Autism. Personally, I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was in 5th grade, which I feel gives me a unique perspective when working with this population. I'm trained multiple therapy interventions including DBT and PE. DBT stands for Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and was a therapy originally designed to treat Borderline Personality Disorder, but has since been shown to be effective with many other diagnoses. PE stands for Prolonged Exposure Therapy. This is a therapy used to treat PTSD. I am also a trauma informed therapist. If you are at all interested in meeting with me I would love to schedule a free 15 minute over-the-phone consultation to see if we would be a good match for each other. The best way to contact me is through email. I offer both telehealth services and in-person services in St. Clair Shores.

Hi, I am Marilyn: A dual board certified Psychiatric and Family Nurse Practitioner that is passionate about holistic and integrative health practices as the foundations for sustainable health and wellness. I blend traditional medication management psychiatry with functional and integrative approaches that get to the root of your challenges—not just the symptoms. My care goes beyond medication. We’ll explore how nutrition, sleep, stress, movement, and relationships impact your mental health, and together, we'll create a plan that fits your life and goals. I help adolescents, young adults, and mid-career professionals overwhelmed from cycles of anxiety, depression, and trauma —so they can feel calm, focused, and whole again. Through an integrative approach—blending medication management, therapy, supplements, and lifestyle coaching—I guide my clients in quieting negative self-talk and reclaiming their confidence, clarity, purpose, and joy. I also combine evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing to learn how your thoughts, feelings and behavior impact each other. Together, we will use this knowledge to shift unhelpful thought patterns, build motivation, and take empowered steps forward—at your own pace. Clients describe me as compassionate, curious, holistic and grounded. I listen deeply, hold space without judgment, and work collaboratively so you feel seen, supported, and in control of your healing journey. If you’re looking for a thoughtful, holistic and integrative approach to mental wellness that honors both science and your story—you’re in the right place. Let’s work together to restore clarity, balance, and peace from the inside out.

Life changes and personal growth are inevitable, and sometimes can be overwhelming and difficult to navigate. ESPECIALLY attending college, being on our own for the first time, and trying to figure out this “”adulting” thing. A lack of change or growth can cause us to feel unhappy with ourselves. Whether you are struggling with adapting to changes in life or are feeling stuck, or feel pressure to trying to figure out your future, I’d love to help you! My approach is to meet you wherever you are (emotionally, mentally, spiritually, or physically) and help you set goals (at your pace) that you want to accomplish in therapy. My goal is to offer you a laid-back, sometimes fun, safe place for you to process your challenges, to feel supported, and to build confidence in your ability to initiate that desired change; or face those scary, inevitable changes. I received my Master of Social Work from Grand Valley State University. My experience has been focused on working with children, adolescents, and families in residential, school and home-based, and inpatient mental health treatment settings. I have a background in working with mild to severe mental health issues including anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation/self-harm, perinatal/postpartum issues, bipolar and related mood disorders, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, stress management, life transitions, grief and loss, and co-occurring disorders. Therapeutic approaches I commonly utilize are Motivational Interviewing, Brief-Solution, Focused Therapy, Strengths-Based, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills, and Mindfulness Practices.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to reach their fullest potential, and at times, we all need a bit of support to get there. I am here to provide that support, tailored to meet your individual needs. Therapy can be a transformative process, offering a wide range of possibilities for growth and healing. I believe that every person is unique, and as such, therapy should never be a "one size fits all" approach. I take great pride in offering a safe space and a compassionate ear to those open to enlightenment and change. I believe that everyone possesses the inner strength to grow, though sometimes these strengths may be hidden. Through a person-centered and compassionate lens, we will work together to uncover your strengths and cultivate self-compassion to help you achieve your goals. In addition to traditional therapy, I also offer Art Therapy as an alternative form of expression, providing comfort and a unique way to explore your inner self. Psychotherapy is a highly individualized practice that can assist with a broad set of life problems. Each session carries the potential for change and growth. In my practice I strive to create deeply personal and meaningful experiences. I believe we best accomplish this by developing a mutual understanding of the concerns that have brought you to therapy, and then embarking on a collaborative process towards addressing your goals for treatment. I enjoy and welcome working with people from diverse backgrounds on a wide range of issues. I am a clinical associate faculty and an advanced candidate at the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis. I earned my masters degree at the University of Chicago and worked for over 10 years as a community social worker in the psychiatry department at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
