My approach to your care takes this to heart, integrating evidence-based therapies to best suit your struggles that may include emotion-focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and family systems therapy. Together, we explore your unique challenges and create tangible improvements in your mental health and overall well-being. I earned a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Albany, State University of New York, and have been committed to providing compassionate, effective counseling since 2002. Throughout my career I have treated a diverse range of individuals, including children, adolescents, college students, working professionals, and seniors. I look forward to collaborating with you as well on your journey of self-discovery and healing. Outside the office, I enjoy a wide range of hobbies to relax, unwind, and keep myself centered, including reading, socializing, caring for animals, art, and music.
I believe that physical and emotional safety and connection within a therapeutic relationship can help clients access and heal their relationships with themselves and others. For this reason, I deeply value the relationship I form with clients. I offer support with empathy and curiosity, as you move through old feelings, bring attention to your present experience, and build trust within yourself. My approach is collaborative and trauma-informed, with the goal of reducing feelings of shame and self-judgement. I will reflect and validate your experience, notice what might be happening in the moment, and encourage self-reflection. Trauma can block our ability to heal, and I have deep grounding in approaches that create a holding environment, gently and gradually building safety and trust. I can support you as you increase your capacity to heal, through sharing and corrective experience, so that you can experience more regulation and joy in the present. I work with adults and adolescents. Some of the issues I work with are anxiety, depression, and life transitions, as well as grief and loss. I’m an LGBTQ-affirming clinician and have experience working with issues particular to LGBTQ+ folks. I have extensive training and experience in developmental trauma treatment and attachment-oriented approaches. I have training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and somatic approaches such as Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. I’ve also been a hospice volunteer, and completed trainings in grief counseling and end-of-life doula work. Other areas I’ve trained in are cultural humility, working with shame, treatment strategies for habits and addictions, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, and psychedelic therapy for end-of-life anxiety and palliative care. I graduated with a BA in English from Barnard College, an MS.Ed. in Infant and Family Development and Early Intervention/Early Childhood Education from Bank Street College, and an MS.Ed. in Mental Health Counseling from CUNY Hunter College. I have over 15 years’ experience as a trauma-informed, early childhood special educator and mental health consultant. It would be an honor to connect with and bear witness to your process.
College is hard enough already - you don't need to let past experiences make it even harder. If you can't stop thinking about certain memories, or people, or pain that you have suffered, you might be burdened by trauma. You might also feel unsafe in particular places, or even in your own body. Feeling this way on a day to day basis is exhausting. Know that you can heal from the discomfort that you are experiencing right now. We can work together to help you feel more at ease on a day-to-day basis. Then, when you're ready, we can dive a little deeper into understanding what happened to you. I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey of growth, healing, and self-love. I see clients of all identities, and I specialize in the care and unique needs of queer, kinky, and nonmonogamous people, as well as those with a background in sex work. My work in general psychotherapy and sex therapy is trauma-informed and driven by principles of consent. I will meet you where you are on your journey in a non-judgmental and compassionate way. My practice is guided by values of anti-oppression, and I actively consider the impact of positionality and power dynamics throughout my life. I am a graduate of the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, with a specialized certificate in Gender and Sexuality. We are a team of therapists who work with students and young adults navigating stress, identity, and the feeling of having to hold everything together. Many of the students we support are balancing different expectations from family, culture, and their own goals. Some feel caught between different worlds, while others find themselves overthinking, second-guessing, or feeling disconnected from who they are. As a team, we are especially attuned to the experiences of students from multicultural, international, and Asian or Asian American backgrounds. We understand how identity, family dynamics, and expectations can shape the way you move through the world. In this Kind Space, your voice is valued, your story is honored, and every part of you is welcomed. Together, we work to uncover what matters most, address challenges in a way that feels authentic, and build strategies that help you feel grounded, empowered, and more connected to yourself.
At New York Therapy Practice we believe that the therapy relationship has the ability to provide healing, growth and change. Finding a therapist who helps you feel safe, supported and challenged is central to this process. Our diverse team of skilled therapists provide services to individuals, couples, families and groups. We work closely with you to find the therapist that best fits your needs and our team continually collaborates and supports each other to ensure you are getting the best possible care.
I see psychotherapy as a collaborative process to help individuals gain a fresh perspective on their lives, recognize repeating patterns in their behaviors and relationships, and find new solutions for old problems. My approach is psychodynamic and eclectic, balancing both depth and real-world focus to address the unique needs of each patient at the intersection of their physical, mental, internal, external, interpersonal, and sociopolitical spheres of experience. I have a particular passion working with individuals who find themselves outside of the narrow band of supposedly “normal” identity and desire, including people who are “kinky”/involved in BDSM, nonmonogamous, polyamorous, in open relationships, queer, gender non-conforming, non-binary, and/or trans* (transitioning or not transitioning). I endeavor to use my concentrated graduate study, post-graduate training, and clinical experience in these areas to provide a warm, open, and supportive space to facilitate self-understanding and growth.
Past experiences may be affecting how you see yourself, relate to others, or move through the world. Healing is possible. Many come to therapy feeling weighed down by trauma, difficult relationships, low self-esteem, or unresolved childhood experiences. You may be functioning on the outside while feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of yourself on the inside. Many of the adults I work with struggle with trusting themselves or others, setting boundaries, or feeling worthy of care and connection. Therapy can help you build insight, strengthen your sense of self, and develop healthier, more fulfilling relationships. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who works with people seeking deeper understanding, healing, and meaningful change. My approach is warm, exploratory, and open, with an emphasis on creating a space where you feel safe enough to be honest and work at your own pace. My style is collaborative and nonjudgmental, grounded in respect. Beginning therapy takes courage. If you’re ready to explore your experiences in a supportive and compassionate environment, I invite you to reach out.
Hello! I work with students who are struggling with anxiety, depression, perfectionism and self-esteem, procrastination, relationship difficulties, or feeling the impact of past experiences in their daily lives. My style is warm, gentle, and honest, with appropriate humor. I'm happy to provide short-term or long-term therapy depending on your goals. I offer telehealth appointments Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and I'm available for in-person sessions on Thursdays in Midtown Manhattan.
My approach is an integration of psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral modalities, which means I will explore the way you experienced the world from birth until present in order to identify habits and behaviors that have become roadblocks to living in alignment with the person you want to be.

It doesn’t have to be so hard. We are not distant, blank faced analysts, but instead are responsive and collaborative in our approach. Together, we will untangle the knots created by anxiety, depression, trauma, family, eating, and relationship problems that leave you feeling disconnected from yourself, your body, and your emotions.

I specialize in supporting adults navigating OCD, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, and bipolar disorder. My focus is on understanding the whole person—your experiences, strengths, and challenges—rather than just symptoms. I believe that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process, and I adapt my style based on what resonates best with you, whether that means a more structured approach or a more exploratory, insight-oriented conversation. My goal is to empower you with tools and understanding you can carry beyond our sessions. Supporting patients in developing coping skills, accessing resources, and maintaining hope during difficult times inspires me. I am deeply committed to reducing stigma and ensuring that mental healthcare is accessible, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs. Outside of work, I like to engage in activities that help me feel relaxed and present. Sometimes that means going for a walk outdoors to clear my mind. Other times, I might read a good book, listen to music, or spend time with friends and family.

As a Creative Arts Therapist, Music Therapist, and Credentialed Alcohol & Substance Abuse Counselor, I offer talk therapy with the option of using creative arts tools to assist you in your process.
