Hi there! I’m Muskan, a therapist-in-training passionate about supporting individuals through life’s challenges. I know that transitions throughout adulthood and seeking change or understanding within oneself can feel overwhelming, and my goal is to be a supportive, nonjudgmental resource as you navigate your mental health journey. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, relationship struggles, or the stress of figuring out who you are, I’m here to listen and help you work through it all. I believe in the power of therapy to help you gain clarity, develop coping skills, and build confidence as you face life’s ups and downs. I use a mix of approaches, based on a foundation of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques, to help you find what works best for you. My goal is to empower you to understand yourself better, feel more in control, and develop healthier ways to manage stress and relationships. I am in my last year of my MSW program at East Texas A&M University, where my focus is mental health service provision to individuals and families. When I’m not in session, you can find me in a yoga studio, reading, or spending time with my friends and family. I’m excited to be here and look forward to working together as you explore your strengths, discover new insights, and move forward with more confidence. Thank you for considering me, and congratulations on beginning your therapy journey! Muskan Hussain is a therapist-in-training at Sol Health. My team and I are committed to examining these emotions, unpacking the underlying issues and helping you find some relief. We are a full-service psychotherapy group, dedicated to helping you alleviate your suffering and develop tools to flourish in a meaningful life. Aristotle believed that happiness is achieved through knowing your true self and acting in accordance with your virtues. Through our work together, we will identify these qualities and help you feel more resilient in the face of adversity. In addition to treating your mental health, we will focus on helping you improve your emotional state, find more meaning in life, and fulfill your potential. By learning to understand yourself we can help you best get your needs met, find purpose and achieve greater life fulfillment.
Perhaps you have been feeling held back by unhelpful thoughts and feelings (worry, doubt, self-criticism) that get in the way or prevent you from living in the present moment. Or maybe you keep engaging in the same patterns of behavior over and over again, rather than moving toward the things you care about most. We partner with our clients to help them find new ways to navigate anxiety, OCD, low mood, and difficult life transitions. Our approach is focused on what is happening in the present while also honoring how your past experiences and identities shape where you are today. We use evidence-based treatments backed by science (including CBT, ACT, Exposure and Response Prevention) to help you reduce suffering and respond more flexibly to life’s many challenges. If you are exhausted by your obsessions, badgered by your inner critic, or trapped in anxious thought loops, you have come to the right place. While you are uniquely special, your struggles are more common than you think. We all have challenges, and often in very universal ways. It’s all part of the human experience. Psychotherapy is a great way to help guide you through life’s trials and tribulations. It can be profoundly healing to have a safe space in which to be affirmed and productively challenged. Together we can explore issues related to ambivalence, shame, resilience, boundaries, connection, confidence, and self-development in order to help you fully show up in your life. I have worked with individuals experiencing depression, unhealthy relationship dynamics, life transitions, substance abuse, and trauma, as well as with the LGBTQ+ community. I also utilize a variety of evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy. I base my practice around the use of empathy and empowerment. My style is warm and down-to-earth, while also naming things in order to illuminate insight and draw meaning. I’ve always thought that the most beautiful and interesting trees in the forest are the ones that grow into unique forms, shaped by their environment but finding a way to adapt and thrive. I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, valued, and supported. By integrating evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Solution-Focused Therapy, I work with clients to reframe negative thought patterns, develop practical skills, and prioritize their needs. Together, we’ll build tools to navigate challenges with confidence and clarity. I’m here to help you rediscover your strengths, adapt to life’s demands, and create meaningful change.
