We assess each client's environment, family, biological factors, and experiences from childhood to the present day. We consider a strong therapeutic relationship to be the highest indicator of progress in therapy. Being able to be open with one another enhances the therapy process. Without a strong rapport between therapist and client, safety doesn't exist, and barriers to positive change exist. After gathering history and establishing rapport, we then tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs. We provide EMDR (trauma therapy) as well as regular talk psychotherapy.

With warmth, curiosity, and a touch of humor, I offer a supportive, judgment-free space where you can feel truly heard. As a former student-athlete at the University of Pennsylvania, I understand the weight of high expectations and draw on that experience to help clients build confidence, resilience, and inner calm. I love working with young adults in college and beyond navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship issues, and making career decisions. My integrative approach combines psychodynamic therapy, CBT, IFS, ACT and mindfulness to meet each person’s unique needs. Grounded by time in nature and meaningful connection, I’m here to support your growth into a version of yourself you feel proud of.
Whether you’re navigating issues of identity, family dynamics, discrimination, mental health challenges such as anxiety or depression, or trauma, I’m here to walk with you in a way that honors your lived experiences. Together, we can explore strategies that help you heal, grow, and build resilience. My approach is grounded in creating a safe, inclusive, and nonjudgmental environment for all individuals, especially those from marginalized communities. I understand that unique cultural factors, identity struggles, and social pressures can impact your mental health, and I’m here to provide support that respects and affirms your experiences.
You deserve a therapist who understands your life in all its complexity. My clients are individuals and couples working through anxiety, depression, grief, identity questions, and strain in their relationships. Many have struggled to find a therapist who can help them feel comfortable exploring more challenging parts of their lives. A lot of my work is with men who learned early that self-reliance was supposed to be enough. I also specialize in working with LGBTQ+ clients and with people exploring nonmonogamy and kink. I want that to be a place of affirmation, not something you have to explain or defend. My approach is grounded in Internal Family Systems. I'm a Certified IFS therapist and have served as a teaching assistant for the IFS Institute. IFS meets the parts of you that feel stuck with curiosity instead of judgment. I also draw on CBT, psychodynamic, and relational work. Before this, I spent a decade in business, government, and nonprofits. That background gives me a feel for the real-world pressures people carry into the room. Reaching out is often the hardest part. Whether you're feeling stuck or just ready to understand yourself better, I'd be glad to talk. I see clients virtually across New York, New Jersey, and Colorado, and I offer a free 15-minute consultation.
Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Megan. I am a therapist-in-training at SolHealth and am excited to begin working together! I would like to take a moment to introduce myself and share a bit about what you can expect as we begin sessions together. I am a first-year master’s degree student in the Mental Health Counseling program at City College of New York. I received an interdisciplinary degree in Science, Technology, and Society where I focused on Psychology, Sociology, and Cultural Studies at Farmingdale State College. I have previously interned in schools where I worked with populations experiencing anxiety and difficulties with life transitions. I also worked as an ABA therapist where I specialized in working with clients with developmental disabilities. My primary modalities of therapy are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Adlerian Therapy. My therapeutic approach incorporates: mindfulness exercises to help with stress management, reducing stress and anxiety, overcoming depression, developing self-compassion, and creating a meaningful life for yourself. I believe in exploring an individual’s past and present while empowering them in a safe, non-judgmental, and collaborative space. Megan Pinzel is a therapist-in-training at Sol Health. I’m a dual Board Certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a strong foundation in whole-person, evidence-based care. My clinical background spans child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations, with experience across acute care, primary care, oncology, hospice, and other community health settings. College can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, grief or loss, or constant stress. I provide a calm, supportive space where you can talk openly and feel understood. We will work together to better understand what you’re going through and create a plan that fits your life, school schedule, and goals. If medication may help, we can discuss safe options and what to expect. You don’t have to handle this alone. Help is available.
I am a licensed clinical therapist providing supportive therapy for anxiety, depression, eating disorders, addiction, and more. Life can throw a lot at us. You may need a space where you can lay it all out without worrying about being judged. I provide a space where you can talk/vent about stuff like depression, grief, family stress, identity issues, the everyday frustrations, and even the messy in between. Nothing is too big or small to discuss. I work with people going through life transitions, relationships challenges, the ups and downs that come with being LGBTQ+, bicultural, or even navigating racial identity. I know how important it is to feel seen and understood. I make it a priority to create space to let it all out and do not hold anything back. Therapy with me is about honesty, connection, and real talk. In our sessions we will learn to process deeply, and move forward with clarity and purpose. We will figure things out together, at your pace, you can reset, find renewal, feel empowered and more in control of you.
Hey there, college life can be both exciting and overwhelming, right? Between managing classes, friendships, family, and figuring out your future, things can feel overwhelming. If you're feeling stressed, anxious, or just need a space to sort things out, I’m here to help. I specialize in helping college students like you navigate the challenges of this stage of life, whether it's dealing with homesickness, relationship struggles, or academic pressure. Together, we’ll work through your challenges so you can focus on thriving in and out of the classroom. My approach is all about collaboration: no judgment, just support. Whether it’s your first time in therapy or you’re continuing your mental health journey, I’ll meet you where you are and help you move toward where you want to be. I accept Loveland Foundation vouchers to offset the cost of therapy. You don’t have to do this alone. Let’s tackle it together.
You’re tired of questioning yourself and feeling “not enough.” Painful experiences in your past colored your inner world gray... Lingering wounds like childhood trauma, narcissistic partners, and betrayal trauma impact how you see yourself and interact with others. You want to break free from being a perfectionist, people-pleaser, or high achiever compensating for internalized self-blame, shame, or inadequacy. Using a blend of brainspotting & psychoanalysis, we can tap into the connection between your body, brain, and psyche to work through stuck points in your inner world, as well as your social, cultural, and familial landscapes. Brainspotting is an alternative to talk therapy that could bypass the limitations of language and access the brain's subcortical regions involved in emotional processing, memory formation, and instinctive reactions. By focusing on points in the visual field, or "brainspots," we can tap into unresolved trauma and emotions stored in the subcortical brain. My goal is to help you process old pain, gain insight into its origins and how it shaped you, reframe limiting narratives from childhood, and integrate fragmented pieces of you into a cohesive sense of self. Schedule a free phone consult with me through my website to see if we might be a good match.
College can be one of the most exciting times in your life: but it can also bring a lot of pressure. Between classes, deadlines, part time jobs, and planning for the future, it is easy to feel overwhelmed. If you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trouble concentrating, mood swings, or just not feeling like yourself, you are not alone—and you don’t have to push through it without support. I’m a provider with extensive experience treating adults 18+ across a wide range of mental health conditions. Over the years, I’ve worked in some of New York City’s leading hospitals, including Mount Sinai’s Main Campus, Mount Sinai Beth Israel, Queens Hospital, Elmhurst Hospital, and Bronx Lebanon Hospital. I’ve provided care in emergency psychiatric settings (CPEP), inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and through telepsychiatry—giving me a deep understanding of both urgent and long-term mental health needs. My current focus is medication management, tailored specifically to your unique symptoms and goals. Whether you’re struggling with focus, managing your mood, dealing with panic attacks, or just trying to function under the weight of constant stress, I’ll work with you to find a treatment plan that fits—and actually helps. To make care more accessible, I offer flexible evening and weekend appointments, so your mental health doesn’t have to take a back seat to everything else on your plate. With a South Asian background and fluency in Urdu/Hindi, I deeply understand the cultural stigma and access challenges many patients face. This insight informs my compassionate, individualized, evidence-based approach, especially for complex cases.

I am trained in Psychodynamic and CBT Therapy. I aim to provide a space of acceptance and authenticity in my practice. I believe that therapy should be supportive and collaborative so that you may continue to heal, grow, and empower yourself to lead a life that aligns with your values. Leveraging my dual expertise as a Mental Health Counselor & Registered Nurse, I have a holistic approach to therapy + mind-body health. We might be a good match if you're a young adult experiencing relationship or confidence issues that leave you feeling like you're not enough. Maybe you've been told to "stop overthinking", or you're constantly doubting yourself and comparing your accomplishments to everyone around you. Our work together will help you heal from the past, feel more confident, set boundaries, build meaningful relationships & friendships, and become more of the person you truly want to be. I specialize in performance goals (academic or sport), self-esteem & confidence, and ADHD. I offer online therapy for New York state residents. As a modern therapist and registered nurse, my approach is holistic, warm, motivating & collaborative. I go beyond surface-level advice like, "just be yourself" or "don't worry". Together, we'll work to uncover what’s beneath the patterns that are holding you back so that you can move forward in life and achieve your goals. I focus on creating a space where you feel understood, encouraged, and motivated. My hope is that you leave sessions feeling like you're growing, evolving, and becoming your best self.
I provide individual therapy that is warm, collaborative, and tailored to meet the unique needs of each person I see. I strongly value inclusivity, liberation, and respect--values I incorporate into my work by staying centered in a Black feminist and HAES perspective. My clients arrive in therapy coping with trauma, depression, anxiety, and grief. Together, we work not only toward developing healthy coping skills, but toward healing for a sense of purpose, contentment, and peace. Therapy is an excellent place to affirm and internalize a greater sense of self worth and to practice a compassionate attitude toward yourself. I am particularly skilled at working with individuals who have experienced trauma. While I am experienced working with people of many different backgrounds and identities, I am especially well versed in working with people of color & LGBTQIAA+ individuals who contend with microaggressions and systems that diminish wellness. Choosing to come to therapy is an incredible opportunity for learning, growth, and creating a life of meaning and fulfillment. I offer individual therapy for adults and elders located in NY or NJ by phone or video conference only. **Please note, I accept only out of network benefits and am not in network with any insurance panels.**
