Many students I work with are navigating big changes, whether it’s adjusting to college life, managing anxiety or OCD, or trying to find balance in relationships and daily routines. You might feel stuck in cycles of overthinking, self-doubt, or worry about not having things “figured out.” In our work together, we’ll create a supportive space to better understand your story, identify what’s been keeping you stuck, and build tools that bring more clarity, confidence, and calm to your daily life. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and that’s okay. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so you can ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and get a sense of whether we’d be a good fit. When you’re ready, I’d be happy to connect and explore how I can best support you.
My practice involves first taking time to establish comfortability and trust. From there, I introduce everyone to a variety of approaches depending on what suits their needs helps then meet their goals.

Jung said “We don’t get wounded alone and we don’t heal alone.” Meaning everything that is hurt within a relationship must be healed within one. As a therapist, I believe in deep relational work, whether that is in an individual setting or with a parent-child dyad/triad. I am not about “quick fixes” and believe that the best results come with time and curiosity. I work with both adults as well as caretakers of children alongside their child. I worked a significant portion of my career in a state setting, which has informed my approach as being anti-behavioral, conscious of the impact of systems, and recognizing the importance of our upbringing in our future wellness.
We are currently accepting new clients. We have the most expertise in helping clients with: (1) Eating disorders; (2) Behavioral weight loss; (3) Parenting concerns; (4) Couples counseling; (5) Behavioral health (insomnia/sleep disorders, chronic pain, alcohol abuse) (6) Anxiety/stress (general, social anxiety, phobias, panic disorder); (7) Depression; and (8) Trauma/PTSD. We have therapists who specialize in working with children, adolescents, families, and adults. We carefully tailor evidence-based psychotherapy (EBPs), which are treatments that are based directly on scientific evidence from several large-scale clinical trials. We are a team of licensed clinical psychologists and licensed care social workers. Several of us hold Assistant Professor Positions (at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University or Yale University) where we conduct treatment development research. We offer an initial free phone consultation. In addition to regular business hours, we offer evening and weekend appointments. To learn more, please see our website: www.salapsychology.com
Female-first psychiatric care. If you’re navigating a new season of life—trying to conceive, pregnancy, or perimenopause—or looking for support with treatment of a specific condition such as PMS or PMDD, PCOS, ADHD, depression, or anxiety, I want to offer you the expertise, compassion, and genuine care you deserve. I am a Harvard-trained and board-certified psychiatrist specializing in women's mental health and reproductive psychiatry. I take a conservative approach to medication, taking the time to listen to you and help you make empowered decisions about your mental health. I provide medication management and psychotherapy through a female-first frame: putting you, your needs, and your wellness at the forefront of our work together. I view my work as an opportunity to help women feel seen and supported through the most transformative stages of their lives. My patients’ unique needs are at the forefront of my practice: hearing them when others have not listened, acknowledging their challenges when others have downplayed them, and empowering them to take control of their health, wellness, future, and family. I am a certified eating disorder specialist with over 10 years of experience working with individuals who struggle with their relationship with food, body image, and self. College can often be a time that increases these struggles with the demands of academics, sports performance for athletes, more independence and social pressures. My work is to help you create a better relationship with your body and food that can help lead to a more satisfaction in life. I also work with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, and the life transitions. Together we will create coping strategies to navigate through the mess and sometimes just to hold space to sit in the messiness that can be life. My work is collaborative. I am not here to tell you what to do but instead meet you where you are at and guide you to your goals that you want to meet in therapy. I bring warmth, compassion and of course some humor into our work together.

New View Psychology group consists of a team of experienced professionals who deliver warm and compassionate therapy services. Melissa A. Tillman, Ph.D. founded the practice in 2017 to provide cognitive behavioral and mindfulness treatment to adults and children suffering with social-emotional difficulties. New View Psychology Group is dedicated to helping our clients improve the quality of their lives. We provide a practical, insightful, and present-focused approach to help clients overcome obstacles. Our goal is to help clients learn new skills and build upon their strengths. We have developed a specialty providing services to adults and children suffering from mood, anxiety and related concerns. Additionally, working with women’s issues has become a key part of our practice. Specifically, fertility challenges, perinatal mood difficulties, and pregnancy loss. Our approach is based in a Cognitive Behavioral therapy model, which has demonstrated effective for individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, emotional regulation issues, lack of communication skills, and relationship problems. There are numerous transitions in life. Teenagers moving from high school to college, young adults leaving college to enter the work force and all of the transitions in an adult life: relationships, job changes, growing a family and more. As individuals navigate through life transitions, they can find themselves feeling stuck or overwhelmed waiting to settle into the new. These transitions range in time and can take weeks or months to navigate. This time brings new challenges and barriers to overcome and asks us to respond in new ways. We will work together to recognize that each transition is truly a new beginning. I believe in providing a caring and supportive healing environment for my clients so that we may develop a trusting working relationship. During the course of treatment we will work collaboratively to help clarify issues, set goals, gain insight and understanding, and create more effective and satisfying methods of moving forward in your life.
Life is stressful and distracting enough without putting others' needs above your own. But that’s what we tend to do! As a result, we are left feeling drained. Relationships are complicated – whether it be with yourself or others. Throughout our lifetime relationships are often the most neglected and yet one of the most important. It is through the relationship with yourself and others that personal growth and change develops. This requires looking inward to discover what you need, want, and desire.
