Therapy is a collaboration between therapist and client. My goal is to understand where you are at this moment in your life, help you to identify your goals and work with you, as a partner, to attain them. My approach to individual therapy is short term and goal oriented. I utilize Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to address a wide range of problems (see problems treated below). These skills based approaches allow individuals to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors, improve awareness of, and control over emotions, increase tolerance of difficult emotions, and enhance ability to live mindfully in the present moment. Throughout treatment we will monitor your progress and make any necessary changes to help you continue moving towards your goals. Therapy sessions are typically 45 minutes weekly, though this may vary based on the type of treatment. Therapy can be brief (12-16 sessions) or may last longer depending on your presenting problems and goals.
Through our work together, we will create a space that is uniquely yours. Your life experience, thoughts, and emotions will be witnessed and safely held within the relationship we cultivate. We will differentiate between familial, societal, and cultural conditioning and expectations from your own inner guide so that you can live in alignment. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, OCD, intimacy, life transitions, self-esteem, disordered eating, or relationship issues, my goal is to help you identify your needs and how to meet them.
We are a private psychotherapy practice that offers culturally competent counseling services to adolescents, adults and couples. I’ve worked at a large nonprofit mental health agency providing culturally responsive care to children and adults. I collaborated closely with medical, psychiatric, and clinical teams to ensure individualized, effective treatment for each client. This experience strengthened my ability to deliver thoughtful, coordinated care grounded in each person’s unique needs.
I work with college students navigating life transitions, loss, and the question of who they are and what comes next, often carrying patterns, unspoken expectations, or a sense of self shaped by experiences they didn't choose. As a bilingual, native Spanish-speaking therapist, I understand how nuanced identity can be and how exhausting it is when that isn't fully seen or honored. My specialty is helping young adult clients reclaim a sense of self during stages of life where identity and agency are often overlooked. I believe in a body-first, present-focused approach to treat your symptoms, prioritizing stabilization while trusting that lasting change comes from a deeper understanding of our histories, relationships, internal worlds, and motivations.

The foundation of my approach is psychodynamic but I also believe in a holistic approach to treatment that involves borrowing elements from cognitive therapy, strength based therapy, and mindfulness. In our work together I will often ask you to draw from past experiences to inform the present. I believe that we are the product of our experiences and that if we can make sense of how our past has shaped us, we can become better at identifying emotional soft spots and managing our thoughts and feelings when they become overwhelming or confusing. I believe in bringing laughter to therapy -- therapy should provide just as much space to process joy as it does to process stress and sadness. I work well with people who have a sense of humor, who are curious about themselves and others, and who are looking for honesty and directness when it's appropriate. Our sessions together will not feel like the stereotypical image of therapy you might have in mind: you draped across an ottoman, and me simply listening nearby. The goal is that our sessions be conversational and collaborative.
I have particular experience working with people with religious trauma, which involves processing unhealthy patterns from high-control religious settings and coming into new ways of relating to oneself. I also work with people experiencing grief, anxiety and depression, as well as supporting people who just need to process everyday stressors. I'm deeply honored to come alongside people on their life's journey and support them through whatever they may be struggling with. I also believe that people, even when they are struggling with their mental health, are doing a lot to support themselves, and find great value in supporting and empowering people in our work together. My therapeutic style is eclectic, meaning I draw from multiple approaches and methodologies to best meet each patient's unique needs. While I maintain an eclectic approach, my work tends to lean into the psychodynamic approach, meaning I believe the past affects the present and that when we understand past relationships and patterns, we can better improve our present-day mental health. I also have particular experience with motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and the task-centered approach.
Therapy is a powerful tool in the process of inviting our most authentic selves to emerge. My approach is grounded in an integrative blend of Eastern and Western modalities and philosophies with the goal of fostering a greater connection between the mind, body, and spirit. In sessions, we will bring awareness to the relationship between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to better understand the blockages that are preventing you from living a fully expressed life. I provide a compassionate and safe container to work towards healing past wounds while addressing present problems. I received my Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University and have been trained in Holistic Psychotherapy by Rebecca Greene, LMHC, CYT. My treatment modalities include Psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, Relationship Counseling, and Interpersonal Psychology. I have experience working with a wide range of clients across various stages of life who are working through issues related to relationships, codependency, grief, past and present trauma, anxiety, stress, and the feeling of overwhelm, spirituality, self-esteem, and emotional regulation. I am affirming of diverse orientations, identities, relationships, and family systems including, but not limited to Polyamory and Consensual Non Monogamy, LGBTQAI2+, Genderqueer, Kink/BDSM, Monogamous, Straight, and committed Allies and family members. I welcome your email or call to set up a no-fee consultation session so we can explore the possibility of working together!
I work with LGBTQ+ folks and anyone navigating trauma, OCD, anxiety, perfectionism, or big life transitions... like college students who are panic googling "what am I doing with my life??" at 2am. If you want to make sense of it all without judgment, basic "talk therapy," or silent nods behind a clipboard and want a therapist who keeps things chill, real, and sometimes even funny - I'm your girl. Whether you're spiraling over every “what if,” feeling stuck in patterns that stem from the past, or feeling like you’re losing your mind trying to figure out who you are & where you’re going, we'll work through this together.
