Life’s challenges can sometimes feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to face them alone. As a Filipino-American immigrant and career switcher (former medical student and tech sales professional), I understand the complexities of navigating major life transitions—whether adjusting to a new culture, finding your place in a demanding career, or balancing personal and professional expectations. I specialize in supporting high-achieving young professionals, first-generation Asian-Americans, healthcare workers, medical spouses, immigrants, and international students facing anxiety, burnout, imposter syndrome, self-worth, identity, and relationship challenges. My approach is warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive. Together, we’ll explore how past experiences shape your present, helping you break free from patterns that no longer serve you. Fluent in English and Tagalog, I offer a space where you can unpack your experiences, build self-trust, and move forward with clarity. If you're ready to reclaim your voice, self-worth, and direction, I invite you to take the next step. Therapy is a space where you can explore your experiences without judgment and gain tools for lasting change. You don’t have to navigate this journey alone—I’m here to support you.

In addition to talk therapy, I use mindfulness techniques like meditation, guided visualizations, as well as attention to body sensations to help you identify and begin to move through where you get blocked. I’ve always thought that the most beautiful and interesting trees in the forest are the ones that grow into unique forms, shaped by their environment but finding a way to adapt and thrive. Similarly, life’s challenges can shape us in profound ways, but they can also leave us feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stuck. I’m Rob Gooding, a second-year graduate student at St. Bonaventure University studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am deeply passionate about helping individuals navigate these challenges and uncover their inner resilience to live fulfilling and authentic lives. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for growth and healing. To me, it’s a privilege to walk alongside clients as they share their stories and embark on their journey toward self-discovery and empowerment. My approach is grounded in person-centered principles, recognizing that you are the expert in your own life. I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, valued, and supported. By integrating evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Solution-Focused Therapy, I work with clients to reframe negative thought patterns, develop practical skills, and prioritize their needs. Together, we’ll build tools to navigate challenges with confidence and clarity. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, academic pressures, identity exploration, or life transitions, you don’t have to face it alone. I’m here to help you rediscover your strengths, adapt to life’s demands, and create meaningful change. Just like those unique trees in the forest, your story is one of resilience and growth – and it would be an honor to support you on your path. Robert Gooding is a therapist in-training at Sol Health. Sol Health is a digital health startup that offers $30 therapy to Gen Zs by connecting them with therapists in-training accruing clinical hours

I work with students who need more or different support than they are able to access on-campus. You may be looking for long-term therapy or for a therapist who specializes in working with people like you. I am trained in several types of therapy (ACT, DBT, relational, multicultural-feminist) and apply them flexibly based on what you need. Students who work with me are often looking for longer-term therapy, where we address deeper issues in a safe relationship, at your own pace. Others are seeking individual therapy that makes room for activism and the big problems of our time. We may be a good fit for therapy together if you are coping with a difficult family, relationship trouble, recurrent mental health problems (e.g. BPD, PTSD, MDD, GAD), or a life transition (e.g. grief, divorce, pregnancy, moving, spiritual/religious crisis). I also have particular experience working with medical students. Finally, I am a climate-aware and social justice-focused therapist; this means your experience with collective problems like white supremacy and the climate crisis is a welcome, respected, and important part of therapy. I don't take insurance, but I offer sliding scale fees based on financial need. Please reach out to me for a 15-minute phone call to see what might be possible in our work together!
