Therapists for college students near New York, NY
My work is based on the belief that caring for our mental health is an essential part of our overall wellbeing. I collaborate with my clients to help them understand their strengths and gain insight into themselves, experiment with new ways of interacting with others, and learn new skills to work towards cultivating fulfilling lives. As part of this process I strive to create a warm, empathic environment, and I prioritize developing therapeutic relationships with clients based on authenticity and trust. I draw from client-centered therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based therapy techniques in my work. As a generalist, I am experienced in helping individuals with a broad range of concerns including anxiety/stress, mood difficulties, identity, career and school concerns, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. I have trained and worked in several college counseling centers over the years, including large state schools as well as smaller private schools. I enjoy working with both undergraduate and graduate students. If you are interested in the possibility of working together, please EMAIL me to inquire about a free phone consultation.
I’m Steph, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Rhinebeck. I work with young adults navigating grief, loss, anxiety, identity changes, and life transitions. My approach is compassionate, grounded, and collaborative — helping students slow down, make sense of what they’re carrying, and build tools for steadiness and self-understanding. I offer both in-person and virtual sessions for clients throughout New York.
We’re a New York and New Jersey based telehealth practice that supports adults, young professionals, and teens who feel caught in patterns they’ve tried to change in relationships, family, school, work, or within themselves. Our therapists offer a thoughtful, compassionate space where you don’t have to perform, explain everything perfectly, or already understand why you feel the way you do. Therapy is a place to slow down, reflect, and begin creating change that feels sustainable and real. Whether you’re navigating academic pressure, career stress, relationship challenges, family dynamics, or questions of identity and self-worth, we meet you where you are and help you move forward with clarity and support.
Hi there! My name is Brianna, and I intertwine my experiences as a psychotherapist, yoga teacher, perpetual student, community organizer, and insights from my own mental health journey into my holistic practice. I aim to provide an engaging and warm environment where together we can access tools to help you cope with stressors; set healthy boundaries and improve communication to fuel connection and build relationships; step into your emotions to better regulate them; reprocess past traumatic experiences; and strengthen your attunement and awareness to your body. You have the innate power to heal yourself, I’m simply here to guide and empower you along the way. I use techniques from multiple modalities, such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), somatic experiencing (SE), internal family systems (IFS), intuitive eating, and feminist therapy, while always adding a multicultural and anti-oppressive lens. Together we can collaborate to tailor an approach that best addresses your needs in an environment where you feel seen, heard, and empowered. Hi all - My name is Erica and I've been a practicing clinical social worker since 2013. My approach to therapy is flexible because your needs every session may not look or sound the same every time. I'm ready to meet you where you are at. From students away from home for the first time, to adult-learners, Veterans, to musicians or doctoral-candidates, those of you looking for short-term solutions or long-term collaboration...however you identify I am committed to help. I want you to feel safe, empowered, and connected throughout your entire therapy experience. While life transitions, depression, anxiety, and interpersonal issues are my specialties, let's discuss what your needs are and how I can help. Outside of the therapy world, I enjoy reading, playing Fortnite, golfing, and spending time with my husband, our toddler, and our family and friends.
I utilize a variety of modalities to assist you in working on the issues that are adding stress and suffering to your life. My hope is to help you learn more tools and strategies to address the issues that you may be struggling with in a more effective way, so that you can feel better sooner. My job is not to tell you what to do but to help you figure out what your options are and decide what choices you feel most comfortable with. I am supportive and empathetic while providing action oriented strategies that you can use outside of session.

College can intensify pressure to succeed, make the “right” choices, and hold it all together, often alongside anxiety, perfectionism, people pleasing, relationship issues, or concerns about food, body image, or control. I work with college students and young adults who appear high-functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of themselves on the inside. Together, we slow things down, identify patterns that keep you stuck, and build insight and skills that support real, lasting change. My approach is collaborative, thoughtful, and tailored to you as a whole person, not a set of symptoms. I hold the CEDS-C credential, the highest certification in eating disorder treatment, and support students whose anxiety or perfectionism shows up around food, body image, or self-worth. Therapy can be a space to pause, feel understood, and reconnect with what matters most, without having to pretend you’re fine or push through alone.
