On our journey it can be helpful to have someone to help us see the narratives that often define our lives. Some of those narratives keep us from experiencing what we want for ourselves now and in the future. Since graduating with a Masters in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology in 2010, I have been working as a therapist with people in various stages of life. A relationship between a therapist and client can provide someone with a deep reflection of how they live and are experienced. I believe therapy can give us the opportunity to rediscover our story in a new way. Real change is possible and the therapeutic relationship is one of the ways to cultivate that change. Areas of experience and interests: ADHD, adults, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, family of origin concerns, grief and loss, life transitions, mother abandonment, parenting, sexuality, sexual and physical trauma, trauma recovery Fee: I offer a sliding scale fee Insurances Accepted: United Healthcare, UPMC, Cigna, Highmark Therapeutic Style: Relational Psychotherapy, Narrative Therapy, Trauma-Informed, Family Systems Contact Autumn directly at 412-606-1887 or autumnkrusebrownlee@gmail.com

I love working with clients who want to better themselves. Whether it be understanding yourself or your identity, conquering anxiety, or working through relationships, I partner with clients to reach their goals and set themselves up for success. Some mental health concerns that I can help with include: ADHD, anxiety, trauma, relationships, life transitions, identity (including LGBT, religion, and others), imposter syndrome, and more. Clients can expect a younger therapist who isn’t afraid to use humor and who isn’t afraid to call out potential stuck points. I am also culturally competent and offer services in both English and Spanish.

At times, life can feel overwhelming. As if you are just going through the motions of day-to-day life. Many times you do not even recognize it until life becomes too hard and the task you once enjoyed, now takes all of your energy. My role as your therapist is to help you sort out negative emotions, thoughts, or behaviors that leave you feeling as if you are running on auto pilot. Together we will work on identifying unhealthy patterns in our thoughts and reactions, we will dig deep into our emotions and being, as well as develop techniques and skills to feel in control and stable. I come from a casual mindset in sessions but focus on challenging the negative thoughts patterns and working with the individual on overwhelming beliefs, behaviors, or feelings. I will focus on how emotions and negative thoughts impact your overall wellbeing and find solutions to get out of these cycles! I am trauma focused trained and well versed in the LGBTQ+ culture.

College is a time of frequent change, new experiences, identity exploration and uncertainty; juggling academic demands with everything else can prove daunting. If you're feeling that something needs to change, you're in the right place. Let's chat! Hi, I'm Em! I previously worked in Seton Hill University's Counseling Center, providing individual therapy to college students for a wide variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, LGBTQIA+ issues, relationship and interpersonal problems, grief, trauma, academic stress, adjustment to college, and identity exploration. My approach is relaxed, conversational, and at times fun! I am non-judgmental and non-pathologizing. I blend traditional talk therapy (where we explore your thoughts and feelings to increase insight) and skill building (where we practice techniques to soothe and minimize distress.) You'll find me at Elements Counseling & Wellness Spa in the east end of Pittsburgh. We're a 15-20 minute drive from most of Pittsburgh's universities, but I also offer telehealth sessions. I have weekend and evening availability.
