My clinical interests include anxiety, depression, social media and internet addictions, spiritual identity, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Hi there! I am a licensed psychologist in Midtown Atlanta. I enjoy helping with anxiety concerns, men's issues/masculinity, relationship and social concerns, and depression, as well as a number of other concerns. I also have extensive experience working with undergraduate and graduate college students. I integrate different approaches, but work mainly using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and relational/interpersonal techniques. Additionally, I specialize in mindfulness-based and self-compassion approaches and the use of mindfulness meditation. My aim in therapy is to create a space of warmth, openness, and support so that we can lean into the difficult areas of your life, work to understand the ways you could grow, and begin to address them. I work actively to help my clients open up to their thoughts and emotions while also helping identify changes they can make to live life more effectively. I am patient, relatable, and flexible in my work, and you'll find that I am a humorous and light-hearted person, too. I also aim to be direct and authentic, giving helpful feedback when appropriate. Check out my website to get a better sense for my practice and the way I work with folks! If you are interested in working with me, please don't hesitate to reach out by phone or email, and we can set up a time for a brief initial consultation.
I think it can be normal to find therapy awkward, uncomfortable, or anxiety provoking, especially at first, and so it is really important to me to help create a space that can be tailored to support you as much as possible. I collaborate with you to uncover what you value, the person you would like to move towards being, and together we create a path that helps you move in the direction you would like to go. I use an integrative, client-led and trauma-informed approach that blends complementary therapeutic modalities to hold space for both your mind and body in sessions. The heart of which is a desire to understand you, to invite in curiosity, and to help support you in embodying your potential. Empathy and compassion play a big role in this as well as a little laughter. I will also lean into activation, discomfort, and challenging you at times. This is done with the explicit understanding this is your place to let me know when it is too much, when it is a “no”, or when I’ve mis-attuned. I use a feedback-informed approach to learn how to better support you. Feel free to visit my website to learn more about my specialties and the therapeutic approaches I use. I'm happy to answer any questions. I look forward to connecting!

I have been influenced by many counseling theories but gravitate most strongly to those emphasizing a collaborative relationship where the client is viewed as the expert on their own life. I believe that human beings are always doing their best given the tools that they possess. I also believe that our society differentially imparts barriers to certain groups and that often these obstacles, rather than personal failure, stand in the way of our goals. Most importantly, I believe that the therapy relationship is a potential vehicle for growth and my most fundamental goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment. I am trained as a generalist and most often work with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, family issues, grief, and trauma. I am particularly interested in working with oppressed groups, including women, ethnic minorities, and gay, lesbian, and bisexual individuals. I use a variety of approaches in therapy. Compassionate listening with a holistic focus is always the foundation. At times I also draw from neuroscience, mind body techniques, hypnotherapy, Rapid Resolution Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique, and Internal Family Systems among others.

Hi, I'm Madeline! At the heart of my work is a deep belief in the power of authentic, meaningful human connection. From a person-centered, trauma-informed approach, I strive to meet each client exactly where they are, with empathy, gentle care, and acceptance. As a fellow creative, I love incorporating play, art, and expressive tools into the therapy process. With specialized training in play therapy and expressive arts approaches, enjoy using creative, personalized interventions to empower clients as they express themselves, explore and gain insight into emotions and experiences, and build on their unique strengths. I believe therapy should be a safe, developmentally appropriate space where you can feel truly seen, heard, and supported. I also value collaboration, partnering with families to offer helpful resources and build a strong support system rooted in trust that nurtures growth and healing. Before joining the team at Early Connections, I worked with children, teens, and young adults in a community mental health setting, offering individual and family counseling to those navigating anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, suicidal ideation, childhood trauma, school challenges, and adjustment. I’ve also supported undergraduate college students through social, emotional, and academic challenges in a university setting. Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of working as a research assistant, focusing on suicide prevention in vulnerable populations. These valuable experiences have all shaped my heart for this work. I’m especially passionate about supporting others through anxiety, depression, stress, life changes, trauma, grief and loss, and issues related to emotional regulation, identity, and self-worth. I earned my Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology from the University of Georgia, where I also studied Human Services and Human Development and Family Science. I received my Master of Science (M.S.) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University. I am an Associate Professional Counselor (APC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC), working towards full licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and pursuing my Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential. I’m also an active member of the American Counseling Association and Association for Play Therapy. As an Associate Professional Counselor, I will be working under the supervision of Lauren Brown, LPC, NCC, RPT-S, the owner of Early Connections Child and Family Counseling. Outside of the counseling space, I’m someone who recharges through creativity and connection. I enjoy a good art project, playing guitar, reading, exploring new coffee shops, and spending quality time with my loved ones. I’m so glad that you are here. I’d be honored to connect with you and walk alongside you on your journey!
I employ a variety of approaches in my work including Dialetical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. I have particular expertise in helping trauma survivors. I help people heal from complex trauma by providing a safe, caring, non-judgmental therapeutic environment. College can be a stressful time, with new academic demands, social pressures, and uncertainty about the future. College can also be demanding with tight deadlines, exams, and responsibilities, leading to high levels of stress that can become overwhelming. I have special expertise in helping students navigate the demands of college. I have experience helping individuals who struggle with eating disorders, anxiety, and depression. I also have experience working with individuals who identify as part of a gender, sexuality or relationship structure minority (GSRM). I also have expertise in healing from narcissistic abuse. Narcissistic abuse is a type of emotional abuse where the abuser only cares about themselves and may use words and actions to manipulate their partner's behavior and emotional state. Healing from this kind of abuse requires expertise from the therapist about navigating boundaries, especially when there is a continuing relationship. I believe it is a privilege to accompany people on their therapeutic journey. I tailor my approach to each unique individual.
I enjoy working with youth and young adults who are experiencing issues with perfectionism, hypersensitivity, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and/or disordered eating. I’m passionate about working with individuals who are navigating their gender identity and providing supportive and affirming care to queer, trans, and gender-expansive clients. At the core of my approach is a commitment to the principles of attachment-based and person-centered therapy. Through this methodology, we can facilitate positive growth and personal development, guiding clients on a path toward healing and self-discovery.

Life can feel overwhelming, and it’s okay not to have all the answers. I offer a supportive space to explore your story and take steps toward meaningful change. I work with those navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, relationship challenges, perfectionist tendencies, and life transitions. I’m especially passionate about supporting current and former athletes as they rediscover identity beyond sport(s). Using an empowerment-based, CBT & DBT techniques, Adlerian, and family systems approach, I help clients build resilience, find clarity, and move forward with confidence. Across all areas, I seek to help clients foster resilience and empowerment in their lives. Reaching out for support takes courage, and it’s normal to feel uncertain about where to begin.
