Sometimes we struggle with our mental health when we're children, adolescents, or even up to our adulthood. By taking the next step in your mental health journey we can work as a team to break generational curses, help you build your confidence, express your emotions, build healthy boundaries, healthier ways to cope, communicate skills, and problem solve to create the best version of you. If you are someone whom is having difficulty with life transitions, depression, anxiety, ADHD, relationship issues, and self esteem concerns I will work with you to build effective tools for managing those day to day life stressors. While also helping you heal from past experiences in order to create a more fulfilling life you can be empowered by. Beginning your therapy journey isn't the easiest but I am glad you chose this opportunity to change not only the trajectory of your mental health but family members, friends, and relatives as well. I am excited to see you take the next step, welcome to the team!

Many of the people I work with have complicated histories and families. They have struggled with relationships and symptoms of one kind or another and come to therapy to share their experiences, often for the very first time. I earned my doctorate at Rutgers University in the School of Social Work and I have been in private practice for over twenty-five years working with adults, couples, adolescents and families. I received my MSW at Columbia University and a Post Masters Certificate in Individual Therapy at Hunter College School of Social Work. I completed my psychoanalytic training at The Center for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis of New Jersey; I serve on the Board of Directors and Training Committee as Dean of Students and I teach and supervise psychotherapists. My approach to therapy utilizes Contemporary Psychoanalysis, Attachment Theory, Trauma Theory, Emotionally Focused Theory (EFT), and EMDR.

We work best with students who feel deeply and think a lot. Many of the students we support are navigating major life changes, identity questions, relationship challenges, or the pressure to succeed while feeling like they are falling behind inside. If you have ever felt like you are carrying a lot beneath the surface or trying to make sense of big emotions and experiences, you are not alone. In therapy, we create a space where you can slow down, feel understood, and build the tools to move through life with more self-awareness and confidence.

I invite you to bring your old strengths into a new perspective, and to share in a conversation that is both challenging and supportive. At Perspectives Mental Health Counseling, PLLC, you are welcome. You may come to gain a viewpoint outside of your current network of friends, family, co-workers, teammates, and to take a look at your own perspective as well. By gaining new insight, you will find ways to make positive change in your life and cope with whatever it is you carry with you through the door. Together we can, through talk therapy, work towards discovering and helping you to become the healthiest you. I specialize in working with individuals who are coping with medical issues.

About My Practice College can be an exciting time, but it can also bring a lot of pressure - academically, socially, personally, and emotionally. You may be doing well on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or unsure of what comes next. I’m a licensed psychotherapist who works with young adults navigating stress, anxiety, relationships, self-confidence, transitions, and the pressure to succeed. My approach combines psychotherapy, emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and neuroscience-informed strategies to help you better understand yourself and create meaningful change. Therapy with me is collaborative, practical, and judgment-free. You don’t have to wait until things feel unmanageable to reach out. Whether you're struggling with a specific challenge or simply know that something needs to shift, therapy can be a space to slow down, gain perspective, and figure out what you need. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, emotionally resilient, and able to move through college and into adulthood in a way that feels genuinely like your own.

There are things that you have to deal with that are too difficult to take on by yourself. Unfortunately, it is not always clear which direction to take- you need someone to bounce ideas off of, someone who is objective and has the experience to help you find your way. I believe that you have the tools you need to make the changes that you need to make. My role as therapist is to help you find those tools within yourself and to learn trust yourself enough to use them. I have worked with clients who are dealing with adjustment, life-stage transitions, identity issues and family problems. Many of my clients seek therapy for relationship issues and when struggling with grief, depression or anxiety.
