Ecdysis (pronounced Ek-Duh-Sus), by definition, is the process that snakes and reptiles undergo when shedding their skin, and it is a metaphor for how I view the therapeutic process. I started Ecdysis Psychology with the goal of helping people navigate difficult or uncomfortable changes in order to discover the best versions of themselves. In my 15+ years of experience treating adults and adolescents in inpatient and outpatient settings, I have encountered individuals experiencing symptoms of depression, mania, anxiety, psychosis, and personality disorders as well as those struggling with addiction and sexual concerns, and I learned that what matters most in treatment is motivation. Anyone with a willingness to change can do so, regardless of the traumas or negative experiences of your past. Therapy is a tool to help guide you through difficult life situations, and my practice focuses on helping clients cope with stressful circumstances, such as grief, traumatic events, relationship difficulties, divorce, family conflict, fertility struggles, depression, low self-esteem, problems with assertive communication, or anxiety. Each person's treatment course is custom to their needs and is based upon the theoretical underpinnings of cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychology, and mindfulness. I look forward to working with you and supporting you on your personal growth journey.

You & I will work as a team to ensure you have the support you need as you begin to feel better about yourself and your life. Life is hard. For many of us, we often become overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, loneliness, uncertainty, fear, you name it. To make things worse, we experience trauma and discover that some of our deepest wounds come from our relationships. Of course, we want to protect ourselves from relationships, change, and the unknown. I get that. From working in schools, residential facility, and private practice setting, I've learned that there is also something inside each of us that yearns for healing, loving connection, and pure joy. So, what is getting in the way? Let's explore that together. I have a non-judgmental and compassionate approach when providing counseling for individuals. What that means is I relate to you as another imperfect human being who understands the impact of trauma, life transitions, stress, anxiety and several other factors that affect our day-to-day lives. I will offer you a space to freely explore your struggles and opportunities for healing. Let’s be real, we don’t know each other and it’s going to feel weird at first to share your story with me. I thank you for even considering. Sometimes the hardest step is the first one. I recognize and respect that. Whenever you’re ready, I am ready to join you. You don't have to figure it out on your own.
College can be an amazing time full of new experiences, but let’s be real—it can also feel stressful and overwhelming. I love working with young adults who are figuring out the ups and downs of campus life. Whether you're dealing with roommate drama, trying to balance work and fun, or adjusting to being more independent, sometimes it helps to talk to someone who gets it and can help you work through the tough stuff. If this sounds like something you’d find helpful, feel free to reach out—I’d love to connect and support you through this exciting but challenging time.
Have you or family members been faced with obstacles that have caused you to lose hope and courage? You may be feeling uninspired and do not believe you have the capability to be optimistic and patient. Perhaps there are internal battles to get through the day without breaking down. When working with a therapist that is "the right fit" in an environment that is "safe and supportive" I believe you can develop the physical and emotional strength to work through your struggles. In an interactive/ collaborative way we will work to make positive changes to improve your life and relationships. My specialities and practice focus include, but are not limited to, eating disorders/ body image issues, self-esteem struggles, infertility issues, postpartum/general depression and anxiety, mothering/parenting struggles, and relationship/family issues. I also provide supervision for students and other professionals earning higher licensing credentials. I favor an empathic and supportive approach which integrates psychodynamic and psychoanalytic techniques to help clients reduce symptoms and explore/understand the underlying issues of their current life struggles. Short or long-term therapy via an office setting, phone sessions, video chat sessions and/or at-home counseling is available.

What if getting better didn't mean spending years talking about everything that's ever gone wrong? I work with college and grad students to build real, lasting change by providing insight and skills that actually help. With over a decade of clinical work in the US and abroad, I've helped young adults manage anxiety, quiet the perfectionism and imposter syndrome that follow them into every exam and internship, while creating a healthy type of confidence that remains under pressure. My clients describe working with me as supportive, direct, collaborative, and nothing like what they expected therapy to be. We figure out what's driving the pattern. Then we work on changing it. I specialize in: anxiety, burnout and stress, low self-esteem, perfectionism, and people-pleasing. My approach pulls from CBT, ACT, Positive Psychology, and Mindfulness, grounded in a trauma-informed model. You don't have to have it figured out to start. Currently offering Online Therapy throughout Massachusetts, New York, Colorado, Vermont, and Florida. Whether you are in Boston, NYC, or Denver, I am ready when you are.
You may be a deep thinker/artist type who goes really deep into what matters to you. Maybe you struggle with self acceptance. You might be seeking a sense of purpose. What if you could feel better about yourself? What if your anxiety or depression started to lift and you felt some relief? What if you felt connected to your creativity and/or your sense of purpose? Imagine if you had someone in your corner to really hear your story and provide support. I provide a safe space to explore what matters to you. I routinely hear from clients that therapy with me has been instrumental in helping them to heal and start feeling like themselves again. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you about your situation. I offer free 15 minute consultations. Send me a text or an email to set something up. I look forward to meeting you!
